We used to live in West Witton in Wensleydale which had the Burning Bartle ceremony each August - lovely but quite wacky.

I love old ceremonies like that. 
Not sure if this should go here or gardening. The primary school GS attends does this ancient ceremony every year and this year GS got one of the 2 main parts of The Page. Looks like a lovely day for the whole village.
