The suggested format is that this is a discussion thread about the places along the route, links allowed in moderation, any food mentioned is vegan. Sort of like a treasure hunt for information, yet no teams, people sharing what they find.

Absolutely beautiful.
It really is a lovely country; I wonder if I appreciated that when I visited, but I think not. (I was a teen)

LINK > Francsican Church, Würzburg (2 minutes 11 seconds)

Only 50 views thus far.

It's a shame we can't direct them.

"Right a bit! Left a bit... stop!"

StarDreamer Sat 16-Jul-22 14:16:59

I always hope they will go all the way round the statue, but they seldom do.

If I were there I am sure I would walk all the way around the statue.

For completeness. smile

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:12:38

Oh, and inside the churches, too, where they have been included.
I do enjoy all the statues as well. smile

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:11:09

Yes, I like the ones filmed in a continuous way, without any jumps, too.

So far I have enjoyed the boat trip, the walk around the botanical gardens, and the other walking ones.

StarDreamer Sat 16-Jul-22 14:06:40

Thank you.

I much prefer the videos where the viewpoint does not jump - the viewpoint doesn't jump if one is really there does it, so why in a video.

I like it when they include the 'bits between' as I feel it gives a better memory, more as if one were there, like going up the steps as in one of the ones at Mainz.

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:04:45

Oh, and depending on your settings, youtube will then recommend other channels that may interest you, too.

I seem to have that feature disabled, currently, but it's a good way of finding new content to watch.

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 13:58:06

The videos are posted to a channel.
There is usually a description of the type of content on that channel, and a "subsribe" button to click on, if you think the videos posted will be of interest.
The Karlstadt video is one of quite a few posted on the channel, which is named Comfy Excuursions, and features all similar walks around Germany.

Because I enjoyed it, I clicked the subscribe button so that I will have them all "to hand".
You can also click so that you are notified when that channel uploads a new video.

StarDreamer Sat 16-Jul-22 13:40:13

What does subscribing mean in this context please?

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 12:52:40

Thank you.
I really enjoyed the Karlstadt one.
What beautiful streets and houses.

I,subscribed to the channel that came from on YouTube.
Comfy Excursions Excursions it's called.
They're the type I like these days. smile

LINK > Walking in WÜRZBURG (33 minutes 59 seconds)

This video is from POPtravel, which did the non-viewpoint-jumping videos of Mainz.

I have only watched the first 4 minutes of this one so far - it is very realistic - I felt wary about walking in front of that car until I remembered a zebra crossing is there - very realistic, in many ways as if actually walking there - Argh! Mind that signpost! smile

Der Goldene Delfin is travelling along the river Main from Karlstadt to Würzburg.

LINK > Würzburg

Upon reaching Würzburg Der Goldene Delfin is due to stay moored for a while, for as well as exploring Würzburg there are planned overland side trips to Rothenburg and to Ochsenfurt.

StarDreamer Fri 15-Jul-22 17:00:55

No sound of footsteps on this one, but there is sound near the start, but it is only for a while, not all the way through the video.

MissAdventure Fri 15-Jul-22 16:47:08

smile
Thank you.
I didn't realise the thread had some more added.

I enjoy the walking videos, too.
It's more like being actually there, and I like the sound of the footsteps.

Bump.

LINK > An early morning walk around Karlstadt (24 minutes 21 seconds)

This is a continuous walk, no jumps in the viewpoint.

I prefer continuous walk videos as, in my opinion, it allows me to remember the experience somewhat as if I had actually been there, whereas videos that have jumps in the viewpoint do not do that.

StarDreamer Fri 15-Jul-22 06:25:44

Der Goldene Delfin left Wertheim a little after dawn this morning to make the journey along the river Main to Karlstadt.

Along the route as we travel upstream some other rivers flow into the river Main.

I wondered if the tour guide had popped over the side for a refreshing dip!

StarDreamer Thu 14-Jul-22 16:07:21

The tour guide is not the Captain of Der Goldene Delfin. The Captain and the crew have remained on Der Goldene Delfin while the participants of the virtual cruise wandered around Wertheim.

MissAdventure Thu 14-Jul-22 15:55:15

I think "bad" is probably the best answer to that. blush
My driving test was proof enough.

MawtheMerrier Thu 14-Jul-22 14:43:12

Has he abandoned ship?
Oh dear, how’s your steering MissAdventure ? ?

MissAdventure Wed 13-Jul-22 22:46:43

My tour guide seems to be AWOL.

Hope all is well, stardreamer

Just watched the glass blowing video.
I saw that on holiday, years ago, in St Ives (I think)
I love those glass balls.
