Prynhawn da is a programme on S4C
Just wondering if watching SC4 would be useful if you aren't already watching?

I did not realise it was a programme on S4C.

I had just learned it as a greeting in the Duolingo course and it was prynhawn when I started the thread.

I had a look on S4C live on the BBC iplayer one afternoon (prynhawn) a few days ago. There was a programme that had people speaking Welsh and it had English subtitles.

There is an animated owl making a sound in the title sequence of an episode on iplayer.

Something else I looked at was the words of the song Myfanwy.

At the ime I only recognised one word, 'ond' which translates to English as 'but'.

The video is excellent as it has subtitles in both Welsh and English built-in.

So hopefully as I learn more of the language I will gradually become able to understand the song in Welsh.

Bora da! I did try Welsh on Duolingo and Saysomething in Welsh on line then I joined local lessons in the Welsh church. I stopped when my grandchildren were born. Its rather a difficult language to learn. There is the North Wales and South Wales versions both similar but with different dialects.
