Well here we are again, is someone taking a day out of the week...no its a day out of the weekend!!!

Hope you are all managing to avoid those naughty titbits!

glass; I don't know what's wrong with me, but I just can't stop eating and it's making me really miserable. Perhaps it's because I'm trying to sort my house out after finally getting the heating fixed so I'm just pottering about the house eating snacks to relieve the boredom. The weather isn't helping. And I still think the codeine I'm taking for my leg is doing something to me, either digestion wise or brain wise.

Notsogrand Mon 18-Jun-12 07:32:10

Morning everyone! One or two tiny patches of blue sky showing, so fingers crossed for a bit of brighter weather today and a Vitamin D boost!
I've lost 1lb this week. I really need to get back on the wagon with losing weight, so I'm going to hold onto that 1lb tightly and not let go!
Good luck!

Notso - Your 'Smile' post has prompted me to change my routine. I'm usually up and out walking in the mornings, but this morning, just for a change, I am going to Zumba! To shake myself about a bit. Walking this evening instead.
Well done for the 1lb loss!

Notsogrand Mon 18-Jun-12 07:53:51

Go for it butter! I'm off to Tai Chi as soon as I can get off my laptop and out of my pyjamas smile
Have a great Zumba!

jeni Mon 18-Jun-12 08:13:34

Crimson I really feel for you as I have been through periods like that myself - purely comfort eating - you know you shouldn't but you still do sad
Please don't give up as the sunshine will come out one day soon and make us all feel better - I found that instead of searching for something to eat if I drank a glass of water with a squirt of pure lemon juice in it the cravings passed. Might be worth a try?
I also understand that codeine can cause a little difficulty in the lavatory department which may be making you sluggish so perhaps, if you really have to nibble, a few prunes or other such substance may help? I really wish you well as it is so miserable when you are feeling as you are, then throw in the lousy weather and all that football into the equation and you get down deeper flowers
On a brighter side I am thrilled to report that last week I lost 3.6lbs.
I put on 3lbs a couple of weeks ago when I went on holiday and lost 2.5 during my first week back which was great but I was still above my pre-holiday weight so I really tried hard last week and it worked.
Glass has mentioned before that sometimes changing your diet can 'bump start' weight loss? I had a certain change of diet whilst on holiday (Italian breads, pasta, ice cream etc!) bumped my weight up but then returned to my salads, walking etc and hopefully I have jolted my body back into weight loss mode?
Fingers crossed !!! hmm Good luck everyone - so many of us were stuck in our various plateau weights, it is time we all budged!

greenmossgiel Mon 18-Jun-12 19:24:02

For anyone who has put two or three pounds on, after being on holiday, don't beat yourself up! A friend of a friend of mine had been (and still is) on the Lighter Life Diet. She went away for a week to Lanzarote and put on 13 pounds! confused!! The 'adviser' that supports them had told them to enjoy their food while on holiday and not to worry too much about what they ate.......grin

glassortwo Mon 18-Jun-12 20:11:49

I have lost 1 1/2lb, so 10lb in three weeks. I wanted 1 stone off for my holidays so I have 3 weeks to loose 4lbs..... then go on holiday and put some of it back on shock I will read all your posts after tea grin

greenmossgiel Mon 18-Jun-12 20:40:13

My goodness, glass - you're doing really well! (I've stayed the same again!)

glassortwo Mon 18-Jun-12 21:50:11

crimson I dont know what makes us eat like that, I do the same when I am stressed over things. Its the strangest thing you are just on the search all the time for what you can pop in next and at the bottom of you you don't really need it.
While your bored try to have fruit in the fridge that you can snack on something that is a treat normally, carrot or celery take a lot of chewing and can be satisfying. Try a slice of cooked meat as it can stop those nibbles. I use pickled onions and beetroot when I get that way and they are not calorie laden.

But always make sure that you are drink lots of water as dehydration is very like hunger pangs, you need to drink around 8 glasses of water or water with low cal juice, once you get past one day you have cracked the cycle. smile Is the codeine making you constipated if so the water will help with that too. Are you having a good breakfast as that will stave off the hunger pangs? I am here if you need me!!

notso well done another 1lb, your on a roll again smile

Go for it butter hope you enjoyed your zumba. sunshine

jeni come on you can do it, after a holiday you do need to give it a shake up, what did you do before you went away as you were going great guns smile

sba that a great loss well done smile

green well done for maintaining smile I once was at a WW class and some one came back from a 10 day holiday with a gain of 16lbs shock

Glass your amazing loss is an inspiration. As are others who are doing well2.2 lb on this week. Still can hardly walk and am creeping about slowly so probably not surprising. After an 8 week wait have an appointment with orthopaedic consultant today so hoping for a miracle!!

whenim64 Tue 19-Jun-12 08:10:50

No weight loss this week, although I have eaten sensibly and thought I would have lost something.

AlisonMA Tue 19-Jun-12 12:55:41

Well done all you losers!

I've only lost 0.4lbs so still not doing very well but did have special meal cooked by DH, which included pudding, was taken out to dinner to a Michelin Starred Chef so ate again and then on Sunday went to a reunion with lots of food and then on to dinner with DS3 and fiancee so I suppose things could have been a lot worse!

Is it possible to eat too much fruit? I'm a glutton for it and at this time of year there is so much wonderful choice. I would be happy to only eat fruit and nothing else!

glassortwo Tue 19-Jun-12 14:20:10

sew hope your appointment with the consultant goes well for you today flowers

when keep at it, it will show up next week. smile

alison I dont know how you managed to loose anything with all that eating out, but I bet you enjoyed it grin

susiecb Tue 19-Jun-12 14:39:50

2lbs off this week (put one and a hlaf oon the Jubilee weekend) so back on track with 4 pounds to go to target. I really want to do this in 2 weeks so trying to be good. That will make 4 stone 10lbs pounds - but its taken me four years!!!! Keep going t doesnt realy matter how long t takes as long as its downwards and you stay healthy.

AlisonMA Tue 19-Jun-12 15:40:08

Oh glass I did. Being spoilt 3 times in 1 week must be a first!

jeni Tue 19-Jun-12 16:02:47

Sbagran Tue 19-Jun-12 21:06:41

Well done glass and this week's successful losers!
For those who are stuck here's some flowers flowers flowers - don't give up - it will happen - I waited and waited, gave the scales one of my 'looks' and eventually the scales gave in and moved, so hang on in there!
susiecb I am so envy - still got about a stone and 4lbs to lose - well done you!

GrannyHaggis Wed 20-Jun-12 18:46:15

Can anyone join in the weekly weigh in? I've decided to try the Walking Diet ( free booklet/CD in last weekend's Telegraph) and was shocked at my weight. So definitely need some back-up to keep on straight and narrow and having seen the posts on here, hope that it'll be OK to report back next Monday. If I can lose half a stone, I'd be more than happy and anything else would be a bonus and would stop the waistbands from cutting in!
I'm weighing in at 11 stone by the way,too much for a 5'2" frame!

glassortwo Wed 20-Jun-12 19:30:09

GrannyHaggis of course you can join us. I saw that Walking Diet advertised and wondered what it entailed so you will be able to let us know what you are doing. smile

GrannyK Wed 20-Jun-12 22:31:39

Am trying to be positive - at least I didn't put any on this weight this week.
Still means that I have either put on a bit or stayed the same for 5 WHOLE WEEKS - very very irritating.
Definitely fewer biscuits this week (can't say absolutely none , I'm afraid), and I did eat very sensibly apart from them , with lots and lots of exercise, so just need to really make an extra effort and start thinking thin again so I actually LOSE something by the next time I weigh myself. Fingers crossed !

glassortwo Wed 20-Jun-12 22:52:10

GrannyK try to write down everything you pop in your mouth and its surprising how it does focus you. Do you eat the biscuits when you have a coffee? If so drink tea. wink
