I dont thinks so when grin I know sw works if you follow the plan, but my will power went on holiday last year and its only now returning. Knowing what to do and doing it is two very different things I think grin

Well done Glass that's a fantastic result. You're a great role model xx

glassortwo Tue 05-Jun-12 08:14:46

butter yes its in one week but I have messed about for months now and have gone back to SW so have tried to be good with a few blips and for a first week loss it is average, it will now settle down to 1 - 1 1/2lbs per week. Also have been back on my HRT for 3 weeks and I think that is starting to kick in, I actually feel like I have my mojo back instead of being stuck in the blues and with no energy.

glass - Now that is some loss. I'm shouting WELL DONE!!

(I hope that wasn't all in one week - and as you know very well - slow and sure is the best way) - Grandmother and eggs comes to mind! wink

alison its been a very difficult weekend for watching food as there have been temptations at every turn, you will be fine next week.
Well done when finding what works for you and sticking to it is the way to go.

Well done, glass!! The lunch was a heavy one, but you were sensible, and didn't eat the heavy 'battered bread'!!! You do right to be be VERY pleased with your loss! grin

glassortwo Mon 04-Jun-12 21:33:33

WELL before I read all your posts I am SHOUTING that I have lost 6 1/2lbs, why do I mess about with other forms of loosing weight when SW works for me and as green will confirm I had a really heavy lunch on Thursday and and Indian takeaway on Friday night so I am really pleased with my loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AlisonMA Mon 04-Jun-12 12:16:30

when I have a bit of a thing about not becoming addicted to my phone/internet so generally switch off around 6/7pm. DH and I stay free of it all in the evenings and enjoy each other's company (unless there is football on TV!) and he doesn't think I'm fat.

I shall try to maintain the image of one or all of you jumping out at me grin

jeni Mon 04-Jun-12 12:00:50

If the thought of one of us jumping out of your fridge doesn't deter you, nothing will!
Try putting a sticker on fridge with

DANGER. GRANSNET DO NOT ENTER!

Alison what about checking in on this thread in the evening, then? Glass is so supportive to us all and many of us will respond when we see a Gransnetter commenting on their progress and need for a little extra support.

Don't forget!! We are all now lurking in your kitchen at night and will spring out to check on you if the fridge light goes on!! gringringrin

when yes, its all that socialising which does it! I don't usually have the bad things in the house so that is not a problem but I know about that evening thing. It was OK while I was knitting, that seemed to stop we wanting to eat or drink but now I have tennis elbow so can't knit. Now about 8 pm I start getting urges and have been known to have a bowl of cereal or DH brings me 'a little drinkie'. Also when bad things happen I eat!

whenim64 Mon 04-Jun-12 10:57:08

Alison I have a finite amount of willpower - it usually disappears at 7 pm every day!! A few weeks ago sbagran suggested we should report in what we were up to in the evening, so we could virtually keep an eye on each other. I did it for a few days, then sort of slipped up and didn't report in, but it has stayed with me, and now I don't fridge-surf at night, which has helped. I have loads to lose, though. If I could stick to salads, fruit, veg and fish, I would be so fit and healthy, but unfortunately I go out to lunch with family and friends and eat what they have, or it'll be someone's birthday and I'm having cake with them. If I stayed at home and didn't socialise, I'd be able to lose so much weight! grin

jeni Mon 04-Jun-12 10:45:34

13st. 1/4 lb

AlisonMA Mon 04-Jun-12 10:38:43

when please send some of your wonderful will power in my direction.............

glammanana Mon 04-Jun-12 10:25:35

Only a very small loss this week 1/2lb but better than nothing I am going to have to watch what I eat over the next two days as tea-party tomorrow and day out with friends on Wednesday,I have been swimming twice this last week and when the children go back to school will be able to go every day as the pool will not be so busy and I won't get splashed !!

whenim64 Mon 04-Jun-12 10:20:20

I've lost a pound this last week. I'm finding I have to stick to less than 1500 calories to maintain my weight as I am so much more sedentary these days. It's getting harder to keep losing weight, and this week I've stocked up on salads, no bread, fewer carbs, more fish, very little meat, and plenty of no fat, low calorie yogurts and fresh fruit. BBQ at son's tomorrow, so I will take veg kebabs and I have some venison grillsteaks which are very low in fat. I'll keep away from the burgers and sausages.

AlisonMA Mon 04-Jun-12 10:03:09

Put on 1.8 lbs and deserved to! It is impossible to lose weight if you retire to such a sociable place, have no willpower and no thyroid! grin

Picnic in the park today so may be able to be good unless of course there is someone selling ice cream or anything which smells good! Think I am a hopeless case.

greenmossgiel Mon 04-Jun-12 09:51:28

More or less stayed the same, I think. I'm still wavering under and over the 11 stone, but want to STAY UNDER it! More effort must be made! wink

gracesmum Mon 04-Jun-12 09:43:19

Serious backsliding when up in Scotland (put on about 4 lb) , but gradually trying to get back to where I was. I will let you know when I can admit to my weight!!

Butternut Mon 04-Jun-12 09:26:19

Organising a wedding = weight loss. True. wink. Not a route to be taken lightly though! grin

susiecb Mon 04-Jun-12 08:46:58

I had planned to have yesterday off the diet as it was my gransdons birthday party but as it turned out the only thing I did wrong was a very few crisps and a small piece of chocolate cake - Oh and a bucket of wine! Not weighing in this week I think.smile

glassortwo Sun 03-Jun-12 23:10:28
