Oh dear! I feel really fat today.. I think I have subconsciously eaten loads of cakes and stuff I should be more careful with because I knew I was going to start being more conscious about what I ate confused

I am off to weigh myself for my starting point shock

AlisonMA Fri 08-Jun-12 11:30:51

OOOH I'm scared!grin

glassortwo Fri 08-Jun-12 10:57:54

Too rainy to go outside.Went for a swim instead but it was a very short swim- the pool was full of kids,dads,grannies....needed a jammy scone when I got home to recover....roll on next week.

Well done raggy loosing 1lb and celebrating.
I cant praise SW anymore.... it works if you stick to the plan. At first you when you see what you can eat you think it cant work but it does, give it a go it.

raggymac Thu 07-Jun-12 09:45:02

Have been visiting my daughter in Nottingham over the Bank holidays and before that a Jubilee tea party with lots of goodies but have weighed myself this morning and have lost one of the two pounds I had gained on holiday so grin
I am seriously thinking of joining SW next week as I seem to have stuck at this weight for a few months. Seems to work for you glass !

AlisonMA Thu 07-Jun-12 09:37:06

Glass you are a great motivator, an example to us all. Promise to walk or garden when the rain stops.

glassortwo Thu 07-Jun-12 09:08:07

specki grannylin grannyK Alison golden its been a terrible weekend (well almost a week for some) to try to control what you eat, with so many temptations that are not usually there!

But today is a new day so come on put it all behind you and see what you can achieve for next weeks weigh in.

For a start try to watch your bread intake and no cakes/biscuits/sweeties, and for those of you that like cheese beware grin a piece of hard cheese should be the size of a small matchbox no more shock and up your exercise if you can, start with a 10min walk everyday and I bet you will see a loss next week. Buy some spray fry lite instead of oil for cooking or dry fry if you need to fry anything. Trim all fat of meat, bacon and try to eat low fat sausages if you like sausage. No full fat dressings or mayonnaise, there are lots of low fat equivalent on the market.

Take care over portion size.

sba 3lb is nothing after a holiday in Italy, it will be off before you know it, I hope you enjoyed your holiday smile

nanej the thread starts on a Monday but you can get weighed at anytime through the week, we all have different times and then post our loss/gain so go on get cracking grin see what you can do this week wink

AlisonMA Thu 07-Jun-12 09:01:32

sba stop, stop! I'm trying to tell myself how wonderful all the 'good' food is and how I really hate all that lovely stuff. Had planned a long walk today with a friend but that has been rained off so instead we are going to the garden centre for the free coffee and cake they have offered me for my birthay a couple of weeks ago!

Sbagran Wed 06-Jun-12 19:26:57

No problem AlisonMA - am delighted to have made someone happy grin
I am hoping that I will return to my pre-holiday weight within the next couple of weeks and then my intention is to lose that blasted stone that has formed such a loving friendship with me that it refuses to leave!
Phew - I could almost smell your toasted teacake - that was my downfall in Italy - their lovely crusty bread hmm and of course the pasta. We walked miles every day trying to keep up with the relevant tour guides, in seering heat, so I did hope that would counteract the naughty food, but that really was a dream hmm Ah well!

AlisonMA Wed 06-Jun-12 15:48:26

Sorry sba but you and goldebnhave both made me fell better for 'only' puttin on 1.8 lbs! I thought this was supposed to be a thread for dieters! Most of us seem to be quite the opposite and Glass is showing us all up.

DH has just brought me a toasted teacake, this is hopeless!

Sbagran Wed 06-Jun-12 15:43:49

nanaej you don't have to weigh in on Mondays particularly - that is just the day that the new thread starts each week.
Personally I weigh every Sunday morning and don't post until the Monday but everyone weighs on whatever day suits them best. Welcome to the club though and good luck!!!
I haven't posted this week (or last) as I was away in Italy for eight days and didn't get home until late Sunday evening - completely stuffed with pasta etc and totally 'creamcrackered' blush - I mean 'very tired'!!!
However, having caught up with everyone else and thanks(!) to AlisonMA for making me and Golden feel guilty grin I am admitting to having gained 3+ lbs when I climbed onto the scales on Monday sad - it has taken until today for me to feel half-human as we had a 14hr journey home on Sunday.
I am hoping to have lost a bit of that by next Sunday's weigh-in!

GoldenGran Wed 06-Jun-12 13:45:18

Up 2pounds...blush

AlisonMA Wed 06-Jun-12 13:20:06

Go on Golden admit how much and make me feel better for my own over indulgence! grin

GoldenGran Wed 06-Jun-12 13:04:39

I am not weighing myself until next week, have stuffed myself with sausage rolls and cake..blush

AlisonMA Wed 06-Jun-12 12:38:38

Grannyk Not sure about support but can definitely sympathise. Jubilee has a lot to answer for and once you start being bad it gets more difficult to be good. Going to dinner tonight with son and fiancee so another challenge.

GrannyK Wed 06-Jun-12 12:17:42

Was thinking of not weighing myself this week , or at least not posting, but that is definitely cowardly ! So , not at all to my surprise , I have put on another half pound. Am now 3.3 pounds above my previously attained target weight and apparently heading in the wrong direction .

On a positive note - the 7 hours gardening on Saturday must have balanced out the enormous amount of food I nibbled over the day at the street party on Sunday. Was anticipating weighing even more today !

So , jubilating over . Back onto sensible amounts of food and exercise

Support required though - it's now a month since actually I lost any weight

jeni Tue 05-Jun-12 23:02:01

Wonderful food! I dread the scales when I get back!

nanaej Tue 05-Jun-12 22:38:19

Bother! I forgot it was Monday on Monday and did not weigh..I was going to join in! I will try harder to remember next Monday!

Grannylin Tue 05-Jun-12 22:36:01

I confess I have eaten far too much junk over the last few days...its all stuff I usually wouldn't dream of eating.....jam tarts, sausage rolls. chocolate mini rolls,crisps...I need a detox and I'm dreading weighing myself. Think I'll give it a miss this week. I have just agreed to go for a coastal path run at 9am with a friend 'whatever the weather' !!Let's see.
grin

specki4eyes Tue 05-Jun-12 22:22:27

No weight loss this week - dunno why. We had some friends over for bridge but just had chicken salad, cheese, apple pie and cream - that was the only day I drank alcohol. Its boring. I just want to lose a kilo or so to feel more comfortable in my swimming cossie. Looking at the Duchess of Cambridge - whatever does she eat to maintain that slender frame? A lettuce leaf? Once every two days? Whether she's hungry or not? smile

AlisonMA Tue 05-Jun-12 12:12:11

Wow Glass I am so impressed! Good for you, that is the sort of kickstart to really motivate.

Butternut Tue 05-Jun-12 11:50:37

Glad you've found your mojo, glass.

when - I agree with your sentiments! smile
