Well thats June almost gone, and no sign of summer..... its got to be just lurking around the corner, so come on lets shed a few pounds!!!!

AlisonMA Tue 26-Jun-12 17:29:46

Thanks GH I'd never heard of it.

GrannyHaggis Tue 26-Jun-12 17:27:36

Alison....The walking diet was a freebie with the Daily Telegraph a couple of weekends ago and as I enjoy walking and need to lose weight I thought I'd try it. It involves walking, following the walkactive technique, every day, part fast, part normal speed and watching what you eat. No carbs after 5p.m. on several nights a week. The plan was written by Joanna Hall(www.joannahall.com) who runs walkactive courses at various locations across the country. Not sure I've mastered the walking technique correctly, but at least it's making me go out and do it. When it rained last week, I commandeered a treadmill at the gym and got my distance in that way.....much better than getting wet!

grannyK well done all your hard work had been worth it.

GrannyK Tue 26-Jun-12 12:00:10

HURRAH!

First time for 7 weeks that I have not gone up or stayed the same weight, but actualy lost a bit
Not a single biscuit passed my lips , but more to the point I think I have to accept I am going to need to be extra careful since losing all the weight being ill and then putting it on again afterwards The body must have gone into some sort of feast /famine shock and it is just making it more dificult to lose weight now. But it CAN be done, thank goodness.

Feeling a lot more positive this week

AlisonMA Tue 26-Jun-12 11:09:34

Hagggis what is a walking diet?

glassortwo Mon 25-Jun-12 22:41:00

sew if I can help you in anyway will you let me know, I have a few WW books so if its a help I can post some recipes! It must be very frustrating for you to be immobile and to see the weight creeping on! But we are here to help you through.

Bez thats it you can do it wink

jeni how long till your cruise? We need to get you on the straight and narrow so you look gorgeous!

white good to see you, but dont forget you need to eat to stir up your metabolism, good luck!

Well done green thats some achievement since September! You have to find a way that works for you and we all have our own way to do that.

Well done alison keep the exercise up and you will reap the benefits.

Back on track notso well done, after the football think I needed vodka!!!

Good luck for your weigh in susie

butter maintain is a job well done, the rest will soon disappear.

Granny Haggis thats a good start keep it up.

sba dont be disheartened no matter how small its off and thats what matters.

when you have done well to maintain, everything seems to come at the same time and it makes it difficult to control our intake so well done.

I have to go and read all your posts, I have not been to SW this evening as I put a holiday in as I have been out to lunch with a Gransnetter, we have had a fantastic afternoon and plan to do it again. But I have weighed myself at home and I think I have lost another 1lb but we will see next week what the loss is over two weeks.

whenim64 Mon 25-Jun-12 15:29:14

No more weight loss for me this week - it's been a fortnight of birthdays and dining out with friends, and yesterday I had a large (low cal!) roast dinner at my daughter's, with a fancy dessert (ridiculously high cal!) and a couple of glasses of wine. I need to take myself in hand - the September wedding is looming nearer and I would really like to go down at least another dress size. I've stopped fridge-surfing in the evening - only because I've been out for dinner, though! Help...!! It was so easy when I was 21 sad

Sbagran Mon 25-Jun-12 15:17:17

Well done everyone as we all seem to be heading 'roughly' in the right direction. Although most of it was recovering from my holiday weight increase I have had good losses over the last two weekends so I was disappointed yesterday to only have lost 0.4 of a pound but at least it is a loss. Will have to persevere though as I get downhearted too easily.
More sympathetic vibes from me too Sew - you must be so frustrated and it is so easy when things are like they are for you, to give up. We are all with you though and wishing you well flowers
Good luck everyone still to weigh in!

GrannyHaggis Mon 25-Jun-12 13:59:25

Pleased to report a loss of 2lbs after first week of Walking diet! I'm finding the carb curfew after 5p.m. difficult to do as we don't normally eat our evening meal til about 7/7.30 ish. Don't do big lunches either on a regular basis,so just doing what I can !Walking is fine and am enjoying pushing myself on the speed walks...at the moment anyway!
Well done all you other losers and to those who haven't lost, remember there's always next week !

Butternut Mon 25-Jun-12 11:52:08

I've stayed constant after the weight loss pre-Wedding - but now want to have a bit more of a push to lose some more.
Well done everyone and I like your comment, Bez - nil desperandum! smile

susiecb Mon 25-Jun-12 11:42:47

Dreading the scales tonight as we have been partying with relatives (everyone had a birthday in June) and hotel and resturants for DHs birthday this weekend - but that's what memmories are made of not how well we keep to our diet. I shall be good this week though and no meals out. Next week I am going to see my brother for a few days - he was a chef!!

jeni Mon 25-Jun-12 11:32:19

white not only do we share a name but height as well. I have come down from your weight to this!
Good luck

Notsogrand Mon 25-Jun-12 10:59:19

I've lost 1lb this week, which is surprising given all the wine I've consumed to cope with watching the football!

AlisonMA Mon 25-Jun-12 09:33:02

sew sympathy vibes on way. It must be very difficult if you are not mobile as it limits what you can do to keep busy and when not busy the temptation is to eat!

Welcome White and good luck.

Well done green 2 1/4 stone is a lot! I can only aspire grin

I've lost 1.6 lbs because we didn't have such a sociable week. BMI 26.53 so still a long way to go.

The sun is shining so am going to finish my coffee and walk down to the shops. It's the walk back up which will do m good.

greenmossgiel Mon 25-Jun-12 09:10:22

Good luck, whitewave! Lost one and three-quarter pounds. I record my lowest weight and ignore any gains. Doing it this way, I've managed to lose about two and a quarter stones since last September. It's all in the mind with me - if I got on the scales and saw I'd gained anything, in the past I'd just give up. By recording the lowest weight, I can tell myself I'm losing ok! Finding now that I need less to eat, so hopefully, I'll just try to 'maintain', now.

whitewave Mon 25-Jun-12 08:41:02

Right first day of the new me!

weighed in at 13st 8lbs

I shall keep a record of all intake and output - I mean excercise! and see.
