Good morning nanad fantastic loss well done, I will transfer you onto this weeks thread. smile

Nanadogsbody Mon 01-Oct-12 07:25:15

My first Monday report, pleased with a 2lb loss smile

Movedalot Fri 28-Sept-12 14:15:44

Thanks sba you are very kind. When we go away the week after next the hotel has scales in each room so I will be reminded on a daily basis if I am sinning! Or I could just shut them in the cupboard!

Gym manager told me this morning that the more muscle I gain the more calories I will use up so I'm going for it. Unfortunately he also told me that there is nothing which can be done about the bingo wings! C'est la vie!

Sbagran Thu 27-Sept-12 20:05:39

Don't beat yourself up movedalot - There are so many of us in the same boat this week that if anyone else fesses up to a wee gain we may need a cruise ship rather than a boat!
We all need to spoil ourselves sometimes and when on holiday or entertaining special visitors we need to relax and forget the stress of the scales!
It seems you are having an especially busy time at the moment so if there is a choice of being an 'angel' or a 'little bit of a sinner' try to be an angel!
However, if going the angel route causes any problem or difficulty then go for the little sin.
Very often a break away from constant concentration on the scales can bump start successful weight loss hmm (and wishful thinking emoticon!) and then you can bump up our weekly accumulated total grin

move its not me that you would be letting down................. wink

Movedalot Thu 27-Sept-12 13:32:32

Just come back from a week's holiday and can only bring myself to fess up to having put some on too, not going to admit how much!grin The next weeks are going to be difficult too as lots of visitors and then we go away again. Will try to be good but don't suppose I will go on GN while we are away so will let you know whether I have succeeded when I get back.

Welcome to the newbies. I can't recommend MFP highly enough, whatever method you are using to lose weight MFP will keep you focussed and there is no way you can cheat it!

I'll try not to let you down glass

glassortwo Wed 26-Sept-12 21:45:58

yoga it seems suited to you. That just over 1.5 lb a week and is exactly what is recommended for the sensible ideal weight loss, well done. smile

yogagran Wed 26-Sept-12 21:41:56

I'm still having great success with the "alternate fasting diet" that has been mentioned by several of us before. Although not doing alternate days - I'm doing 2 fasting days out of 7. Find it much easier than I had expected. DH is doing it too - it was originally his idea as he needs to loose about 4 stone and thought that he would find this better than a traditional diet. I've lost 8 pounds in five weeks and already feel much better for it. I'm now a few pounds under my target weight so would be happy to stick with this but worried that if I stop then DH will stop too and we'll both put it on again.

glassortwo Wed 26-Sept-12 20:14:07

grannyK to keep you on the straight and narrow is all we need, grin keep it up smile

GrannyK Wed 26-Sept-12 20:10:21

Hello ladies- was overwhelmed by work this week so forgot to post once I had weighed myself.
As I do it in kilos even the slightest loss is reported, so I have lost 0.3 kilos this week, making a 4 lb loss since I discovered MFP. (They do the converting, so I am going with their totals.)
This is pretty much down to my target weight of 58 kilos, but I realy really want to keep it stable and not have to worry about the eternal yoyoing and putting on and then losing the same few pounds over and over again, so that is my goal- to be the same at Christmas.
Obviously this means I won't be contributing enormously to your intended fabulous cumulative weight loss, but your numerous endeavours and reports do keep me ( along with MFP) on track . For which, huge thanks !!!

Sbagran Wed 26-Sept-12 13:37:18

Drat! Thought I was!!! grin - like the idea of bonus calories on MFP though!
No sign of Frida yet sad

glassortwo Tue 25-Sept-12 22:06:13

grin I hope you're not on commission sba wink

Notsogrand Tue 25-Sept-12 22:04:52

If you recruit a newcomer to this thread, will you get added calories on your My Fitness Pal as a bonus? grin

Sbagran Tue 25-Sept-12 22:00:48

Have hopefully just recruited Frida from another thread grin
Hope she joins us!

glassortwo Tue 25-Sept-12 21:28:12

sba yes I can do a running weight loss each week, also a total loss if you think it would help, I may get a little confundled when some are lbs and some are Kilos, but I will try my hardest to convert to Lbs as most of us are still imperial.

Next week I want you all to have lost lbs and then we can have lots and lots of flags or whatever Tech has fixed by then grin

nana and all the newbies you do not have to reveal your weight unless you want to, you just report the total loss or gain. We all use the thread to support each other, none of us are experts in weight loss (but if your like me have had years of practise grin ) you can post recipes that you have used and enjoyed or to have a moan if you need or as you all will be next week wink shouting from the rooftops..... oh and I forgot to say that we all do our own thing some do SW, others WW some use the My Fitness Plan just whichever you find suits you......good luck everyone.

Thats it I have been and joined Slimming World again but a new class and I feel much more at home, so I am hoping for some good results.

Notsogrand Tue 25-Sept-12 21:24:21

Nanadog, I've posted on this thread every week since May 2011, but I've never posted my weight. Most people don't.

I like the idea of a recruitment drive Sbagran. Can't think of a witty thread title though.........

Sbagran Tue 25-Sept-12 20:49:12

Of course if I had half a brain I could have tried the [flag] [flag] [flag] !!!

.... and would have found out that they are NOT working sad

Come on TECH - we need them! (well hope to need them!) grin

Sbagran Tue 25-Sept-12 20:46:00

Glass I am sure you will reply to nanadogsbody re us not having to fess up to what we actually weigh so will leave that to you but I have a feeling you keep a little note of the amount each of us admit to losing (or otherwise sad) each week.
If you have fourteen of us on your list would you be able to report that Gransnetters are a stone lighter this week (providing 14 of us lose the pound you have challenged us to lose!) It would be great if we could say Gransnetters have lost a stone this week!!!
Just a thought - if you don't have 14 of us perhaps we could do a recruitment drive via a new thread entitled 'Help us lose pounds' (or a wittier title?) directing new faces to join in the Monday Weigh In thread?
PS Do you know if the flags are working again yet? Hopefully we will all need them next week!

Nanadogsbody Tue 25-Sept-12 18:49:40

Do we have to fess up our weights or just say what we've lost? Or not as the case may be.

Wheniwasyourage Tue 25-Sept-12 18:27:45

Oh you are all so encouraging! I've put on another 0.6 kg this week, but a ot surprised as have had a visit from DD2 and family, which was great fun but involved a lot of eating and drinking. Now you've got me psyched up to start losing, not gaining, and I am going to go swimming tomorrow (in the street if the rain keeps up) and will aim to lose something (anything!) by next week. Good luck everybody!

Notsogrand Tue 25-Sept-12 15:07:30

Isn't it wonderful to drop down into the next stones category dahlia?

glassortwo Tue 25-Sept-12 14:41:01

Hello nanadog & dahlia its good to see some new faces.

dahlia Tue 25-Sept-12 14:39:26

Hello, can I please join your weigh-in. I weighed in at 13 stone 13 lbs yesterday (Monday), having lost 8lbs. Will join you again in one week - good luck, everyone.

Notsogrand Tue 25-Sept-12 13:21:27

Lovely to see you Nanadog! smile

Nanadogsbody Tue 25-Sept-12 08:17:22
