Latest research - is it telling us what we already know?

I'm off for a fast on-the-spot pedal on the exercise bike. After which, I shall feed the cats. After which, I shall watch Alexander Armstrong on 'Pointless'. So, it's a very good evening to the gang. Many thanks for your kindness. It's been a pleasure sharing news with you. moon

Oh, go on then...since you insist! Mr soop already thinks you're the tops...when I suggest a wee dram [usually enjoyed at the weekend, high days and holidays] his beam will light up the night. grin Big hug for each and every one of you.

Soop I'm so pleased you are ok.
You are right about the value of reassurance. Someone (I think Hunt) posted a link to www.foodforthebrain.org afew weeks ago and we both did the cognitive function test on the site. It was so nice to know we were both in the green zone ie ok, we now feel like spring chickens grin

Well done Soop! Hugs of relief!
Saw a leaflet in the Surgery this morning, there to 'clear' an ear (it didn't work, ho hum, back next week after MORE olive oil...YUK!) and thought about you. Apparently it's possible to send for a booklet.... seems there's a booklet on everything these days!
I'm sure many of us would be able to tick lots of the boxes.... I know, speak for myself. blush

When I explained to the nice man, Michael, that you lot keep me sane on my toes, he said to thank you. Since he'll return in four months for an update, I'm duty-bound to hang out on GN. I'm pleased that I didn't let the side down. Funny thing - I was asked to memorise a name and address. Out of all the addresses that could have cropped up, the one I was given was in a town, in Devon, in which I once lived. I did own up!

If there is anyone who has any niggles such as I had, I would urge you to bite the bullet, and get checked out. It's not at all scary and the outcome can put pay to irrational fears. Also, of course, had the test suggested that I needed help, then I was assured of ongoing support.

Hello! I'm grinning from ear to ear. Lovely young man, Michael - CPN Dementia Specialist, has been testing me for one and a half hours and has just left. I'm here to share the results with my cyber friends. Apparently, you lot are very good for me! grin

The result of the first test was 100% Gold star! The second was 99%. He feels that surgery and anaesthetics may have resulted in a mild bleed in the brain. I'm to have "bloods done" to check out this theory. He'll be returning in four months to do a follow up test. As you can imagine, I'm feeling extremely relieved.

I want to say a huge thank you for listening to my prattle and for helping me to remain positive. You are special. flowers
