Filling foods

Wouldn't you think they would invent a filling but healthy dietary aid? I bet they could if they tried.

Me too. Even beans don't work as well as eggs and meat. I sometimes have half a tin of beans with a poached egg on top, for a change. that works quite well.

A bowl of scrambled egg works for me as I can eat it a spoonful at a time and make it last. I find protein much more filling than anything else.

After doing a little 'research' yesterday morning, I can confirm that a bowl of rice pudding doesn't get you through the morning, either. I was rather hoping that I could exist on that for a while, as a change.

Eggs work for me too. I gradually decreased the quantities, from 2 eggs poached on one slice of toast, down to 2 eggs boiled on their own, and now 1 egg on half a slice of toast. But I eat it a bit later than I used to so that I don't get hungry mid-morning.

I used to have porridge, but it didn't last all morning and I found that it was too easy to sneakily up the quantity. I was cheating only myself, how daft. I also found that the tsp of syrup I was allowing myself was gradually becoming a dsstsp.

An egg is far less easy to cheat with.

Breakfast, any breakfast, awakes my appetite and makes me hungry mid-morning. A piece of fruit and a drink are the most I have then I can sail through to lunchtime without feeling hungry.

I have found since starting the 5/2 diet that a huge bowl of vegetables, cooked in a sauce of some kind is very filling indeed. I make ratatouille, stir fries, vegetable curries and large pans of thick vegetable soup

I love Weetabix to keep me full. It is supposed to be the healthiest cereal, along with porridge. Amazed they are producing it with chocolate and goodness knows what else. Trying not to think about food today as doing a fast day.

I loathe porridge so 2 slices of wholemeal toast with honey, marmalade or peanut butter does me fine until lunch time and then maybe 2 cold boiled eggs on Ryvita. Trying to keep off the "in betweens", biscuits.

Yes, hard boiled egg on a two Ryvita fills me up.

No. Porridge doesn't keep me going, unless I have a huge portion. (love it though) 3 weetabix for me.

A bowl of porridge for breakfast will last me most of the day! I very often get to 3 in the afternoon before realising I haven't had any lunch!

Porridge with fruit lasts me all mornng. I put a sliced banana or tinned peaches, mango or pears with it. I used to love dates or raisins but they're loaded with sugar.

2 Weetabix with a sliced banana, lasts till lunch time.
