by Lucy Lonsdale and: Simple Healthy Smoothies for The 5:2 Diet; by Emily Hanson. The smooothies in the last one are so delicious and filling and all calorie counted. Hope this helps someone. These books were recommended to me and I have made some brilliant meals from them. i love this diet!

I have just bumped this as I never saw it the first time around. It is useful to me as a veggie.

This book has just come out and I love it! It's easy to read, informative and most importantly, it's inspired me to follow the 5.2 diet in a healthy way. I'm particularly interested in good health, think its really important at my age.

The green smoothies are well explained and are a revelation! I'm so enjoying them. Here's the link

Thanks ,*mrsbennet*, have got my free ebook as above. I can't read it yet as my Kindle is charging! I have maintained my weight for a year since losing 2.5 stone, by alternate day fasting, but feel ready to lose a bit more. This might kick start my efforts to stick to 500 cals instead of nearer 1000 every other day, which I have been consuming to keep weight the same.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out!

Just come across this thread - thanks for the links and suggestions. I'm struggling with the 5:2 diet though I really believe it would help if I went for it - but the meds I'm on increase my appetite hugely!

I'm doing this diet and seem to be stuck. I lose a 1lb over two days and then put it back on again when eating normally. I'm not going 'mad' on non-diet days.

I've just downloaded this book. Maybe the smoothies might help. I have dropped a dress size and lost just over a stone in the last year. I only want to lose another 7lbs. Maybe this is the problem as it's not much to lose.

Any suggestions?

janthea, I would suggest trying alternate days for a while, which is more likely to acheive results. Those last few pounds are always a bit stubborn. Good luck!

DH and I have been doing the 5:2 since March with good results. The only book we have used is our old copy of Audrey Eyton's F-Plan Calorie & Fibre Chart which is very useful for working out the calories in a slice of melon or a banana. Probably available in a charity shop near you! It's interesting to see that there are so many books around now to help.
