Frank you know full well that council tax has no bearing on care fees, you are just trying to get back on your hobby horse again! Our LA sends us a break down of what the council tax gets spent on, yours may well do the same.
Mine is a 4 bedroom detached house G band. I just pay the bill straight away when it comes in but if I paid it over 10 months that would be £175 a month. I am just wondering where all the money is going as Birmingham City Council uses every trick in the book to try and get the offspring to pay the parents care fees when they are under no legal obligation.
I am in South Oxfordshire and pay £112 a month for 10 months, on a tiny 2 bed terraced house, after the 25% discount. Only 2 ladies turned up for the Body Attack exercise class this morning, so we used the gym instead, as the leisure centre sets a minimum of 3. Fortunately the instructor gets paid for just turning up!
I thought that we were hard done by in some London boroughs but I pay £113 a month for 10 months and that includes the single person discount. I may not moan so much now knowing what others who live outside London pay. Mine is 3 bedrooms/end terrace.
I made a very good offer to her today. If she paid my £1,750 council tax bill every year I would agree not to go in to 1 particular class every week. She did not take me up on the offer.
