Morning! Was scared to get on scales as I started using myfitnesspal last week and felt that I'd been eating too much at their recommended 1200 cals. glass told me the other day that I may have been eating too little before, and that's why the weight wasn't shifting.
Hooray! I've lost 2 pounds this week! smile

Good morning, well done Marelli- I lost a pound, so that's good. smile

whitewave Mon 14-Jul-14 10:07:55

I am new-ish. weighing in at 13st 5lb.

Nanabelle Mon 14-Jul-14 11:40:29

oh dear ….. I put on 2 lb. Why does it take two weeks to take it off and only two or three days to put it on? Visitors, that's why!!!!

Hello whitewave and welcome. It is nice to have new people and encouraging for us all when someone loses a bit!

marelli .. well done … I remember when I went to SW we were told to eat enough and also that it was important to vary what we eat.

My goal this week is to go for a good walk every single day.

And try those courgette fritters!

Any one else going to set a goal?

whitewave Mon 14-Jul-14 15:14:14

My goal is loose SOME weight! I have been on what I thought was a really good diet for a couple of days plus walking for and hour a day and have put on 1lb!!!!!

Back to the drawing board-- it is soooo difficult though.

I lost 1.5lbs this week but have felt pretty deprived most days, on the works lunchtime bash I had only a diet coke whilst my salad wilted in the car. I am on WW 26 points a day but either have too few points or eat them by teatime....erm before the evening meal I mean. So I have started to have free foods during the day and a low point meal for dinner. I run EVERY morning, round the fields for 40 - 55 mins ( a bit of walking in that to be fair), and feel less fat but it is sooooo hard to lose wight. I have lost 7.5lbs in 6 weeks. Is it age? Diabetes? fibbing to myself? I diligently fill in the tracker on my phone so don't think its the latter.
OH reckons i am increasing muscle and bone mass but losing fat. Oh Mr Science Geek - you might be right but I want to lose at least 3lbs a week and I don't care if that's unreasonable.
Good Luck Ladies!

Not a very good start as I've put on 2lbs, but I have a fairly good excuse!
No more excuses now though, and I need to get back on track.
Well done to the losers! smile

Good luck everyone!

glassortwo Tue 15-Jul-14 20:40:53

Yessssss 3lb off cant grumble with that can I smile just as well I previewed this post as I had put crumble...do you think that's a freudian slip wink

marelli well done 2lb ....if you want me to post you one of my SW books you are welcome to it, I seem to collect them wink

bee great 1lb good loss.

white hello good to see you. you dont have to put your weight on the thread if you dont want to just add your loss or gain, the thread run from a Monday to a Sunday so feel free to use it in anyway that helps you.
Never mind start off again and try to only have 2 slices of wholemeal bread from a small loaf or 35g of porridge or 2 weetabix per day, trim all fat of meat, plenty of fruit and veg. Be careful of cooking in fat dont use anything other than frylite. More important than anything is drink lots and lots of water.

nanabelle never mind new day start over again, it difficult when your routine is disrupted by vistors grin even if your glad to see themwink and setting a goal is a great idea, my goal is 1st off for the 14th Sept.

caramac I found with WW that I was often hungry and the points sent me around the bend, that's why I like Slimming World where there is very little weighing and counting and you can eat potatoes an pasta.

notso you have had a good excuse so new start and you will be fine smile

sue dont lose heart it will show next week keep at it smile

Had a letter today to say that my gym has gone into receivership sad which has completely thrown me as I needed the machines there to tone me up. I'm going to go to my friends tai chi class but, although I used to put off going to the gym I felt great when I did work out for a couple of hours.

Notso Tue 15-Jul-14 21:19:24

Glass...3lbs is fantastic! smile

Marelli Tue 15-Jul-14 22:24:28

My goodness - 3lb glass!! And yes, I would like it if you could post me a SW book? I'd really appreciate that.
Trying to get more exercise - had a couple of decent walks and started swimming again. The myfitnesspal keeps me right with the calories I've burned off doing that, so the important thing is not to go and eat those calories after the exercise blush.
Good luck everyone. It seems like we're really applying ourselves again now.

Nanabelle Tue 15-Jul-14 22:30:22

Super stuff glass - an inspiration. I managed my walk this evening and there was such a beautiful pink sky. Hasn't it been a glorious day. sunshine

BeeWitch Wed 16-Jul-14 14:50:13

Thank you Glass and well done on 3lb weight loss. I like the comments here, they are positive and helpful, and it's nice to be able to share any concerns or handy ideas on the road to a few less pounds. smile

Galen Wed 16-Jul-14 15:33:05

I'm afraid I've put on more weight. I blame work. End up with sandwich lunches.
Gone up to 14 7.
Must try harder.

Lost a pound and a half at the Slimming World weigh in, so quite pleased having lost my way for a few weeks with trips away and lots of visitors. I really feel the need to take a bit more exercise so I'm trying to use the car less and walk more.

mrshat Fri 18-Jul-14 21:55:18

Lost a pound - now 12stone 4 lbs. Well done Glass
