Yes, good idea.

We should set up a step club on the forums. It definitely helps to have others encouraging and sharing. Would you like? If so I will do it asap

Terri I had too if it helps. But now it's a joke among everyone who knows me that I walk everywhere (time permitting)

But some days it seems that it's so easy to do and others a slog.

Having been tracking my steps through an app on my phone. I walk every day and average at about 7000 on a ' normal' day. I find it very difficult to achieve 10000 however I do not carry my phone around indoors when I am doing chores up and down stairs etc. I think I need to put it in my pinny pocket like the lady in Bread.smile

OMG! I'm a such a failure I'm going away now to write a 100 times "I must step it out more" and I'll do it whilst walking!

I'm going to have to take a leaf out of your book Cari and change my routine, I know my son saves quite a bit on tube fares, walking from Waterloo to Bloomsbury daily, but he's a bit of keep fit fanatic anyway.

I think I've become a bit sedentary over the past few years unfortunately.

All you have to do here is mow the lawn. Volunteers welcome....

Yes, me, too. I have a fitbit linked to My fitness Pal. Trouble is, it doesn't record cycling well. I have to attach it to my shoe!

Yes (obsessed) been doing it since Jan. There is the odd day that I don't get to 10,000 for various reasons but most days I go over so it usually averages out over a week at 16,000 a day (which for me is 10 kilometres. Depends on your pace length etc)

But the only way I have been able to do this is changing my routine which is not always easy.

It's completely addictive though and I am on a mission to beat my PB. (saving a fortune in petrol and tube fares too)

According to health guidelines we are supposed to walk 10,000 steps a day +. I have just walked in and out of my local town about 1 and a half miles round trip, probably 2. Armed with a recently purchased pedometer I am trying to hit that goal, but even with 25 mins on the boring treadmill, I'm still falling short. I exceeded it for a couple of days recently when a visiting friend from Scotland wanted to do Kew Gardens and a couple of museums, but this is outside my daily routine.

Any GNs out there recording their daily steps? and if so do you hit the 10,000 mark?
