Sorry I am early again but we are up at the house and as I have reception I thought I had better do it now.
Weather been very good no rain so I have managed to clear half the stream out up the side of the house... Hoping it burnt some calories off grin if you can't be good be careful grin will drop in when I am able.

Marelli it's off, not on smile

I've lost 2lbs....I have so much to lose the first few weeks will be mainly fluid loss not fat, but I still like the numbers!

Good luck everyone.

I've given up!
Last recorded was 14.4
Daren't try again.
I'm resigned to being obese!

Notso Mon 18-Aug-14 21:06:10

I hope you don't give up Galen. I'm much bigger than you, but it's all do-able smile

oh it is so hard isn't it. Down it goes - a little - and up it goes again if we eat the wrong things! Why does it go on so quickly/easily and yet it so hard to lose?
I have thank goodness got back now to just 1lb to go before I've lost a stone. But still another half to go after that.
My good news though is I tried on a lovely pair of capri length summer trousers yesterday that I haven't worn for a couple of summers - and I got into them.

My bad news is I am off to buy 4 tubs lovely Minghella ice cream for a big family visit here this weekend. All different flavours. Do you think I should try them all? grin

Well done Notso, its lovely to see someone doing well.
Galen - please stay with us. Can you get out for walks? I find they really help me when I go out every day for half hour fast walk. Seems to shift the metabolism. Trouble is I also spend too long sitting - on Gransnet! And just discovered Pinterest.

See you all next week. smile

The furthest I can walk is from my chair to the toilet! And on a bad day that's a struggle! I'm very disabled.
On crutches outside or using a buggy.
Try to keep going, but, it doesn't help the weight

Notso Tue 19-Aug-14 06:43:02

Chair exercises can help Galen..... there's lots on YouTube.
I go to an Age UK Centre that offers various fitness classes for the Over 50's, including Chair Aerobics which I do each week. Some folk arrive with their crutches or a walker. Anything like that in your area?

I am sorry Galen, I didn't know. That makes it so hard to lose weight, and I for one would be turning to food much more as my treats. The other tip I had was doing knitting or crochet as hands to busy to nibble/pick and also I find it occupies my mind a bit. I crochet and discovered attic24 blog. She uses vibrant colours and I have made a few things from her site.
flowers for you.

Galen Tue 19-Aug-14 13:16:33

I do crochet. I've just finished an afghan measuring 8X5 feet. You can see it before I finished it on the crochet(picture) thread. I can't get iPad to post pictures on GN now for some reason.
I'll have a look at attic24. I usually follow Mikey on the crochet crowd.

Well I've lost a pound I think

vegasmags Wed 20-Aug-14 13:14:58

Oh dear another half pound on at Slimming World this morning - I have now put on 4lbs in the last 4 weeks! I have done a lot of visiting/having visitors this last month which has wreaked havoc with my good intentions. Another week and then my life should be back to normal, so no excuses then.

Nanabelle Mon 25-Aug-14 23:59:36

I did manage to lose the 1.5 lbs by the end of the week, but then the weekend hit, with family visiting and all the food that went with it. Why did my daughter buy a huge tub of clotted cream to go with the scones her dad bought!
I am rubbish at resisting what is in my fridge/cupboards. It is so much easier when no visitors here as we have normal healthy food only!
Will come back Monday 1st and hope for a good result, but off on holiday the following Friday!
Hope you have all enjoyed a good Bank Holiday weekend.
