Still hovering around the 12st 4.5lbs. I am quite pleased really it has not gone up too much - been a very very stressful and difficult couple of months. Will keep trying. Would LOVE to be 12 stone for Christmas grin

Come on ladies, we can do this!

I am on the 5:2 diet, although this week to kick start it I am eating only 500 calories every other day and since Saturday morning have already lost 4lbs. I need to lose about 4 to 5 stone so this, I don't think, is a problem to do this for the first week. I am sat here hungry but refuse to eat until 12 noon. I am drinking plenty though, is gin at 7 am ok? wink

Oh I agree! Also if I am at home all day with nothing specific to do (or want to do!) I suddenly find I have gone over to the cupboard and started rummaging for something to eat!

Tegan Sun 16-Nov-14 21:41:16

Have to agree with what you've said Penstemmon. Although, when I was really tired the other day when I got up early because the gas man was supposed to be coming to check the meter [he never turned up] I found myself picking at food. Tiredness seems to be my downfall,

P.S I have tried loads of diets and been a Slimming Club leader!

Just sharing my thoughts as I am not really a member on the thread! I have recently lost just about 5lbs since end of September by not dieting!
And that includes being on a 12 day cruise! I did not gain any weight whilst away.
I am doing a course of hypnotherapy which is proving effective so far. Nothing is forbidden and the emphasis is on enjoying every mouthful and eating consciously. Only eat when hungry, reduce portion size and stop eating as soon as you stop feeling hungry!

No use! I've given up!

galen dont throw the towel in, try not to buy anything that will be tempting if your trying to be good. wink

nanabelle make good choices and you will be fine.

marelli if your happy with your current weight why not try a few weeks where you are good through the week and have a weekend where your not so restricted. I would just watch your carbs as that can be a killer and try to fill your plate with 1/3 protein 2/3 veg (can include a few potatoes/pasta in this).
allotment we all follow our own plans, I follow Slimming World which means you dont have to count calories and weigh very little. Have you tried any healthy eating plan before?

I am sorry I have not been around much lately but there is a lot going on at home at the moment, I dont often get on Gn but I will continue to put the thread up each week and will pop in when I can.

Perhaps I'm aiming too low, Tegan. I'd been doing myfitnesspal and it's worked well enough. Starting at 1200 calories and any exercise (just walking) being logged, to show how many calories have been burned. However, I think I now more or less know the values of whatever foods I have and what not to eat. It's been a good guide, though.

Marelli; I seem to be maintaining my weight loss by not eating between meals or after about 6pm at night. When I feel peckish I've started having a cup of tea or coffee [instead of a mug] and look on that as a sort of treat. I've also got nothing in the house such as ice cream or biscuits. Mind you, it will only take something to make me feel a bit fed up to start me off looking for calorie laden junk food. I've found in the past that there are certain weights [like a sort of latent heat thingy] that I struggle to lose weight beyond but also tend not to easily put weight on. I spent most of my adult life trying to achieve weights that were too low, both for my health and my appearance [wish I could turn the clock back 40 years sad].

Well, weighed myself today so time to start losing the weight. Target, under the next stone for Christmas. Come on, let's go. . .

Marelli Wed 12-Nov-14 13:56:33

Stayed the same weight this week -again! I think I'm 'plateau-ing'! I'm within a healthy weight according to the BMI chart, but don't want to get any heavier (also don't want to keep recording calorie intake, either). glass, what's your advice?

Nanabelle Tue 11-Nov-14 23:15:00

And I had a lovely Belgium bun with my cuppa this afternoon.
Lunch out in the pub, with friends, tomorrow, so no hope for me at the moment. wink
