Candlefran I think that someone who holds degrees in medicine and surgery and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Surgeons is more than capable of reading research papers on nutrition and evaluating the evidence for and against the LCHF diet.

He could always study dietary things and get properly qualified.

I can see where they're coming from. An orthopaedic surgeon isn't a qualifited nutritionist. What if he gave out completely duff advice? Surely he could advise his patients to lose weight, without going into dietary specifics. Orhe could recommend a good dietician to help with the weight loss. They have to stay within their remit.

Still not eating bread and, for the first time, probably in my life, I've maintained the same weight for over 3 months, even though I sometimes feel I am eating too much. I hope I can stick to it.

In Australia, an orthopaedic surgeon who advises patients of the benefits of the LCHF diet has been ordered to stop doing so, and told that he is not qualified to advise patients, even though many orthopaedic patients present with obesity or diabetes........

If you are like my DD you will check broadband and mobile signals when looking at houses. When I moved it meant taking a compass as I love a sunny garden!

Move went very smoothly and we are now looking at houses. I have taken over most of the cooking as DD and her DH are at work all day and they now get a decent meal in the evening.

Seen doc for blood test results. B!ood sugar 6.9 , kidney function excellent, BMI 23, blood pressure excellent, cholesterol up to 5.9
Not reversed type 2 yret. Will keep trying . Doc seemed to think cutting carbs is a good idea.

Thank you Lazigirl Most of the packing is done now. Lawn was cut yesterday. We just have one mug, one plate etc.each left out. Freezer nearly empty, but we are still managing LCHF. My DD has started it and has lost over a stone so far so we shall be fine when we move in with her for a while.

Physio (kiné) is one of the amazing bits of the French health service. OH has had various joint problems and the doctor just signs him up for 15 sessions. He pops round the corner to the physio and books in to start straight away. He then has six or seven weeks to get to know a new group of friends.

Mamie I paid for two private physio session while waiting for the NHS to kick in and these made a huge difference especially to the left arm, which is the weak one still.

Then had two totally uselrss NHS sessions. Absolute waste of my time. So booked a couple more private physio slots starting again next week.

Anya I had a bad fall exactly two years ago. I damaged my shoulder and it still is not right. Knitting can only be done in small snatches. The DR said it was like a rugby injury ha ha
