Also muscle takes up less room than fat x

I believe cardio does at the time but muscle burns more calories than fat .. so the more built muscle the more calories burned

From what I've read cardio burns more calories than weights I think maybe trying a mix of the two rather than sticking to just weights. Just my opinion.

Really into the weights at the moment but hate the scales showing putting on rather than losing which is hopefully muscle... definitely shape is changing..

Forgot to add I've lost 21lbs in the last 4mths the gym combined with a diagnosis of diabetes that made me rethink my diet.

At the moment I'm recovering from surgery so not using the gym but when I do I do a mix of things I don't do one versus the other but some cardio and some strength/weight training they have a large choice of machines I can use for variety as I know I would be bored just lifting weights. I also swim and find the variety keeps my interest up and it combines to keep me a bit fitter than otherwise.

As anyone started weight training or strength training ... and what's your opinion as opposed to cardio.
