I’m a pear !

I have returned to my own healthy eating plan as I need to lose a stone. I am pear shaped with a small bust, reasonable waist and overlarge hips.

On reading the ever sensible Dr Scurr in the DM this morning I discovered a healthy waist size is 31 ins for women and 37 ins for men. I rather smugly measured myself expecting a pat on the back only to find I am 5 ins over the recommended size ?

Onward and upward or preferably downward.

Hi dontaskme, onwards and downwards for us all......its good support from everyone on here....I go to slimming world, before christmas i weighed daily just to keep tabs but now i shall just wait till wednesdays my weigh in....lost just over one and a half stone, I go low carb as that suits me .....

Billybob4491 Mon 07-Jan-19 17:08:11

Welcome Dontaskme, and thank you Nankate for your continuing support. I have been going to SW since August, they discourage you from weighing yourself at home, but I cant resist jumping on the scales daily! Another stone to lose, must think positive.

Welcome Dontaskme! NanKate has been our inspiration for a long time and has told you about her regime. Mine is slightly different but I do 'roughly' calorie count plus gym/swim sessions. I have fallen off the wagon many times but the support on this thread gets me back on! My incentive is that I weigh every Sunday morning when I first get up - before mt morning cuppa! I then record it on a graph on my laptop which has pounds and decimal point gaps so that even if I only lose 0.5 of a pound it shows as a drop on my chart! Gives me incentive to carry on! I also celebrate or otherwise by reporting in on this thread!
Good luck with all your efforts and, as NanKate said please come back onto the thread to let us know how your are doing or if you want support!

Thank you for the welcome smile
I think I'm going to try the 16/8 or the 8/16, whichever is the one that means I'll eat for 8 hours! I'm a grazer so if I can at least cut the hours of stuffing my face down I'm onto a winner. I eat a lot of "empty" calories so I'm going to stop doing that too.
I'm a vegetarian and most people think we are all skinny minnies. Chips are vegetarian you know!
Anyway thank you for letting me join you. I am very determined to get those special occasion trousers on!

Welcome Dontask to our exclusive supportive slimming club. We’ve been going since last May and we have all had our ups and downs but a small core group has stuck together and started to lose weight. We all have our own own type of diet plan we are following.

What has worked for me is following the NHS calorie counting diet plan found online. No food is out of bounds, portion control is crucial and treats a must for me, but all within a calorie count of 1300 calls a day. I no longer have to count the calories as I know what I can have.

Let us know if you want any hints to get you going.

Best of luck.

Our mantra is Onward and Downward.

Today is the first day back in the Zoe Harcombe diet so I'm doing the 5 Day Detox to get into it.
Wish me luck! And good luck to all you fellow Losers. ?

Welcome Dontaskme, I wish I could avoid the scales but they glare and me in a challenging way every time I go into the bathroom. I wish there was space to put them by the fridge to keep me in order!

NfkDumpling Mon 07-Jan-19 07:25:37

I’ve just had a big family weekend. The whole lot here plus dogs. I haven’t weighed myself all weekend (I’m a compulsive weighed) so this morning is likely to be a shock. I’m hoping against hope that have hyper active and over excited DGC and DGdogs will have counteracted the full roast dinners, sherry trifles, and booze!

Dontaskme Mon 07-Jan-19 07:12:22

Hello everyone, can I join you please? I'm a big fat dollop which I usually am not bothered about, but want to lose a roll or two for a big event coming up in the Summer. I've started today with the intention of cutting out rubbish and doing some walking - its 7.10am and guess what, I'm hungry!!! Will go and have some porridge after my shower. I actually don't know what I weigh, but I do have some trousers that I can't pull up that I want to get in to and will be used as my gauge smile

Thank you Nankate, some days I can manage the diet, other days its an uphill struggle, but I guess we all feel like that at times. Managed to resist buying 'Turkish Delight over Christmas, that was an achievement in itself!

Thanks Fourormore being part of this little exclusive club has kept me motivated. Happy New Slimmer Year Girls.

I didn't record my weights for the last few weeks as it would have been too depressing and for a few months in late 2018 I was getting obsessed and that's not good.
The last weigh-in was on 16 Dec when I was 178.6.
Today I am 180.8 so over Christmas and New Year I have only put on 2.2lbs which I am happy with.
My New Year resolution is to get exercise in one way or another, even just a short brisk walk out in the fresh air, every day except Sinday (My word for Sunday!) and so far, I have done something each day so all I have to do is keep it up! hmm
I do feel more determined though nowadays - perhaps because I gave myself a break?
Good luck to all fellow strugglers - may we see 'less' of each other thoughout 2019!!!
Thank you especially to NanKate for keeping us involved flowers - it certainly helps to feel 'committed' to admitting our slips and successes!

I put on 2 lb this fortnight so was pleased with that, thought it was going to be half a stone lol....

NfkDumpling Tue 01-Jan-19 08:24:40

Humph! I’ve put on a couple of pounds! It must be a delayed reaction as I’ve been really good the last two days as the sausage rolls, mince pies, chocolate log, etc had all been consumed. Even got out for a bit of excercise. DH and I had rationed ourselves and were getting all self-congratulatory. Now the Cumupance!

mumofmadboys Tue 01-Jan-19 08:20:40

I have weighed myself too. Have put on 2 Ibs over Xmas. Want to try and lose half a stone.

NanKate Tue 01-Jan-19 08:17:16

Just weighed myself and have stayed the same so I am pleased with that. TBH a few days during the festive fortnight I have felt slightly nauseous so have not eaten much, this happens from time to time, so I think it has balanced out the days I have eaten extra.

Billybob4491 Sat 29-Dec-18 16:39:10

Thank you Shirley, just seen the last of the turkey off (thank goodness) back on track now.

NfkDumpling Fri 28-Dec-18 18:55:58

The four pounds I lost has stayed lost - more or less (!) so I’m a happy bunny. I’m rationing the chocolate Brazil’s though and the chocolate log is nearly finished so hopefully I’ll be on the downward trend again next week.

Shirleyw Fri 28-Dec-18 18:43:00

That's good BillyBob, ??????, ...2lb on is pretty good merlotgran for Yuletide......I have to wait till 2nd Jan for weighin, I won't go on my scales lol....I'm being sensible again after a few days going silly, waiting for the new year is too long....one can easily put on half a stone in that time lol

NanKate Fri 28-Dec-18 16:14:46

Well done all round. In days gone by half a stone was easy to put on with 2 weeks of over eating but the good thing is it appears we are all prepared to keep our over munching to just a few days which is excellent in my book.

I couldn’t eat much yesterday as I had a bit of IBS which perhaps stopped the rot. I won’t be home till next week so will report back to you all then.

Onward and downward.

merlotgran Fri 28-Dec-18 15:36:47

I've put on 2lbs but I'm not surprised given the food and drink consumed over Christmas. Back on the regime today and I already feel much better.

We're on our own over NY so no temptations.

Happy New Year everyone.

Billybob4491 Fri 28-Dec-18 15:32:09

The dreaded weigh in today, surprised to find I had lost half a pound, so much temptation this week, oh well press on - Happy New Year everyone.

Shirleyw Wed 19-Dec-18 16:24:46

Put on 1 pound, happy with that as had a few mince pies and carbs this week....next week no weigh in so next weigh in is 2nd Jan...that should be fun!!!

Billybob4491 Wed 19-Dec-18 15:25:46

Very difficult when eating out Nankate to keep on track, I have been tempted over the last week or so.

NanKate Wed 19-Dec-18 13:43:14

Managing to keep my weight stable even though I had a 3 course Christmas Lunch with the Keep Fit group on Monday. It was delicious, but I didn’t eat all the roast tatties
