Exercise Bike Recommendations Please ?

I really like the Marcy ME-708 Upright Exercise Bike. I can't ride my bike outside because there is 3 feet of snow, so this is a great way to get exercise. I can't give it enough praise. It will serve you well if all you want is a simple exercise bike with a basic display and no bells and whistles.

If you can, although they are more expensive, get a reclining bike, where you pedal forwards whilst your back is supported. Found it much easier and better when I had my two knees replaced, and now.

This is quite an old thread.
I did actually get a pedal exerciser as recommended.
It was for DH really, I haven’t used it yet following my hip replacement.
Anyway, it’s a really good bit of kit.
So thanks all!

Another vote for a pedal exerciser fanny. Used it a lot pre and post TKR. Physio advised me to vary the height I was sitting to use different muscles. It lives under a chair, no not used a lot now as we walk most days. It does get dusted off during bad weather and will be useful for Mr C if the threatened heart surgery occurs.

How about trying to discipline yourself into doing heel toe and knee up exercises Before going to the expense of the machine.
I’m all for saving money and I know how gadgets can be left sitting unused.

I would say that the best way to dive into exercise bikes of bikes is to find a coach who can help you to exercise in a correct way. Also make sure that your doctor approve these exercises.

You may purchase bikes on Amazon and read the reviews. Also show the training apparatus or bike to your coach and doctor.

You mentioned that you know nothing about bikes - I would advice you to start cycling near the house. For example, you can look for then here.

Exercise bike is a more complicated thing. If you will find a coach in the gym, you may ask him about it.

There are usually exercise bikes for sale or as freebies on local Facebook, Freegle or Nextdoor sites. Most of us who have used one get tired of it and move it on! Worth a look. Good luck!

My recumbent exercise bike is not foldable and has quite a large footprint. Luckily we have plenty of space and as I use it daily it wouldn’t be convenient to have to keep putting it away. The smaller, lighter, foldable upright type are no use to me as I can’t get on and off them. Also they tend not to be very steady. Riverwalk’s suggestion is a good one, I have used one of those in physiotherapy sessions and you can put them on a table and exercise your upper limbs and shoulders.

Why not get a pedal exerciser - much smaller and some can be used for arms as well
