Does anyone have an really old WW receipes?

Following on from my ‘balloon’ thread, I have been researching the 800 plan and 5:2 diet.
I still work full time in a physical job so although I don’t think I could function on the low calorie days, I am interested to find some really low calorie dinners.
Many years ago I followed WW and really enjoyed a low calorie/low fat prawn recipe. It was simple and quick and I’d like to find it.
I can only remember two ingredients, prawns and baby leeks confused and maybe spinach or maybe pak choi?
I have looked online and can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone have any old books they could skim through please?
This would probably be early 2000’s?
Thank you

Sorry about the awful typos in the heading!

I think it might have been in this book

I used to have an old book of WW2 recipes but it got lost in one of our many moves.
I remember 2 recipes, both using black treacle. I think there was a sugar shortage but for some reason you could still get syrup and treacle.
One was sliced baby turnips cooked with treacle. The other baked beans cooked with treacle. both very tasty.
My Gran used to serve yorkshire puddings with syrup.

I read the title as meaning World War recipes, then realised it was Weight Watchers.

Think Marmite did the same!

Sorry! I mean do Weight Watchers grin

DanniRae Fri 21-Jan-22 14:07:24

I read the title as "Women's Weekly" recipes. Maybe it's best to write the titles in full - there's more chance of people knowing what is being asked and getting involved! smile

I was thinking World War, too. I thought I could add an interesting slant by copying out some of my mother-in-law's recipes from wartime Germany, which I can't bear to throw out, even though they are in faded pencil on mouse-chewed scraps of paper in Süterlin script which I would have to ask my DH to decipher.

Oh JackyB that sounds really interesting - can you tell us more? Maybe on a seperate thread? Thank you smile

Yes it would make an interesting thread. For those of us who are 'really old'.
My husband often says that I'm obsessed with WW2 - probably true.

Was it a pasta dish or a risotto Flaxseed? There are quite a few recipes containing leeks and prawns on the Weight Watchers website.

Me too and was thinking of things like bread pudding and Woolton pie.
Lack of butter and lack of food in general probably kept weight down as well as more exercise as no-one had cars.

Oh dear, bad timing Flaxseed - I had a big box file full of WW recipes and threw them all away last week as I'm starting a clearout (cringe).
I'll have a look to see if I have a cookery book anywhere.

Thanks, but not the recipe I am after.
I am hoping someone might have the original book that I posted a photo of.

I have a book full of World War recipes. I was ready to be helpful?

This book can be bought on eBay not very expensive

Flaxseed Fri 21-Jan-22 22:11:09

calypso I’m not 100% sure it it that book which is why I was hoping someone might still have it.

Callistemon21 Fri 21-Jan-22 22:16:05

I'll have another search but it might be tomorrow.

All recipes leaflets may have been recycled by now though.

What about the Christmas chocolates that needed tidying up? Would they work?

Wrong thread - what happened there?
