Jalima, you have to be over 12 to buy crackers because they contain explosives!

I don't have to fetch the crackers; last year I used the year's before which had kept very well in the attic and snappedvery satisfactorily.

B & M has just opened near us, and I got a box of their 10 luxury crackers for £2.99, which is much less than I usually pay, even half-price in the sales. They've a lot of styles and colours and the contents look as good as anything I've had before too.

Of course I've now found the ones I bought half-price in the sales last year...

I made a mistake. Their essential crackers are 12 for £5.

the Debenhams ones have 12 in a pack, so if there are more than 6 of you at the table it would be £10 anyway.

Waitrose have six crackers for £5. Why pay more?

Thank you for the tip. I have ordered 2 boxes on line which are being delivered straight to DD house where we will be spending Christmas. Something else we won't have to get in the car.

I love the stuff in crackers! I have in my handbag some mini-nailclippers, magnifying glass and little tape measure.

The whole point of crackers is that they must have the same corny things in them. the little red mood fish, the mini playing cards, the whistle, the small measuring spoons, the tiny tape measure, the tiny plastic hair slides ( always fun if bald Grandad gets that one) and the little dice.Anything better would be a disappointment.Having said that, I did look at the Debenhams ones, and they do look attractive, so thanks mumsy for the info.

My main gripe with crackers is that no matter how plush the exterior....the insides are all much the same...I'd love something a bit different and that does not wreak of child labour in some far off country!

Thanks for the information Mumsy I will tell DD to-day she is off to Liverpool for her table decorations this morning,we don't need to buy any as there are only the 2 of us and we spend Xmas Day at DDs house so all sorted for us.
