Just come across a Costa gift card dated December 2023, so two years old. Online info says that Costa honour gift cards for one year. The one I have is for £25. Do I chalk it up to my bad home filing system or go cap in hand to Costa and hope they take pity on this old girl?

Go cap in hand and plead being elderly, smile a lot ... and say you feel incredibly guilty about wasting the gift giver's money 💰

Good luck!

Totally agree. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Is worth a try, I once had a gifted rail voucher that had expired but rang a phone number to say that due to serious family issues we had not been able to use it, which actually was true, but I laid it on thick saying my DH and I are in our seventies and added a wobble to my voice. So they gave me an extension.
Good luck, and don’t forget the wobble in your voice 🤣

😂 definitely pull out all the grey hair stops! (You may not have grey hair ...)

It’s worth a try. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you all for your positive encouragement. I have news: the local Costa (where the gift card was purchased) didn't want to know, despite my decidedly grey hair and full-on wobbly voice, so I emailed head office to see if I could appeal to their better nature, and today received a QR code for the full amount! I am so excited and looking forward to a skinny latte or two...come and join me?

Well done! And especially for not giving up at the first hurdle. 🏃‍♀️

I’ve just spotted this, Grandma600, otherwise I would have been on earlier and advised emailing head office as you did. They reinstated one that DH had forgotten about with a really nice message hoping he enjoyed spending it.

Such a difference to our local authority. I’d bought an annual family pass for a local manor house they run, just before they shut up shop for nearly the full year in 2020. They refused to extend it, which left a sour taste.

Well done you 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Enjoy your coffees, wish I could join you.

Wow, this is amazing! Great work and thank you for sharing. I have had a similar issue too. I contacted them via the website form. Is there a different way or direct email you know of? Thank you!
