My daughter Yr 2 aged 6 came out of school absolutely dying for a wee. She said 5 minutes after lunch she asked the teacher but was refused. She waited a bit and asked again but was told she should have gone at lunch and that if she could not wait she would have to wet herself (SO ANGRY) luckily she managed to wait but the afternoon runs for 2 hours and 20 mins.
opinions would be helpful Is the teacher out of order? Should I go and speak to her?
Does anyone know if there is a question on a GCSE paper somewhere that requires you to start a thread on a social network site and then monitor the replies you get? And do they have a list of suggested subjects? Like "Uniform", "Plimsolls" or "Toilets".
Sorry its unheard of! Not saying that you are fibbing but really? the teacher would lose her job for saying such a thing! And I do not believe it happened anyway!
My sister was a primary school teacher as was my Mum, they used to get exasperated with "Please Miss " but never stopped a child from going to the toilet , I really don't believe the OP
This makes my blood boil. My daughter now aged 22 was in Yr 2 and the exact same thing happened. She was not so fortunate and did gave an accident. I am not one for over reacting but boy dud I write a strongly worded letter saying their memory's were out-dated and humiliating. They wrote and apologised and I insisted the apology went to my girl. She remembers it to this day. It is not healthy for a child to hold their bladder that long.
If the parents and grandparents of the children I taught heard what they told me, they would be mortified. Gems ranging from.... "My grandma is a witch" to "My Nanna shaves her bottom!" The aforementioned witch had gone to fancy dress party, by the way and was in no way involved in any satanic activities. Not sure about the bottom shaving though.....?
What on earth do teachers expect ? In lots of schools hildren are either allowed a water bottle on their desk or they have a jug i the classroom, if you dont expect children to go 2 hours without a drink then you have to understand the children will need to use the loo more often.
Very harsh teacher in my view. I can't imagine any of the teachers in the school I work in being that mean. Often a child will be asked if they can wait till playtime or home time but not for over 2 hrs. I would check with the teacher what the rules are about leaving the classroom to use the toilet.
