This is actually rather funny as well as terrifying. Three academics submitted hoax papers to peer reviewed journals and seven were published. In the article I've linked to, five other academics have responded to the scandal. They argue that reason has been replaced with ideology in some academic fields and that who said something has become more important than what is being said (this who/what reversal phenomenon has surfaced on Gransnet a few times and I've challenged it when I've seen it).
Anyway, 👏 well done the three hoaxers. Let's hope it starts a movement back to academic sanity in the ideology affected areas.
