Action Tutoring is an education charity that supports disadvantaged young people with English and maths tutoring. We are based in Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Sheffield and Sussex.

We focus on supporting primary and secondary school pupils, to help them achieve the grades they need to progress in their SATS and GCSEs.

Education in this country isn’t fair. These pupils aren’t any less able, but they don’t have access to the same opportunities as their more privileged peers.

We want to give them the support they need to overcome the challenges they are facing in these subjects. To do this, we need volunteers like you to help for just one hour a week and provide two or three pupils with tutoring support.

No previous experience is required and we offer training and specialised workbooks to guide you through your sessions. Plus, there’s a member of our team on hand every week to support you.

The commitment we require is one an hour a week for roughly 8-10 weeks, including a break for the school holidays.
