I woke up this morning and the temp in the house was 17 degrees. You can guess what I'm about to say...lol.. my fingers were white and numb, so I turned on the central heating for an hour . I suffer from Raynaud's. I don't think ive ever had the heating on mid may before....anyone else feeling the cold this morning?

Not specifically this morning, but I am what my grandmother used to call 'a chilly mortal'. I feel the cold more than most, as did my mother and her sister. I also have Raynauds sundrome.

I am also in danger of drifting very gently into hypothermia if I am outside and perhaps wearng a layer less on than I need. I do not avoid the cold, In fact I find a good waalk on a frosty day exhilerating, I just need to make sure I have enough layers and thickness of clothes on.
H is run on the thermostat, so is never actually turned off or on. In the height of summer, if the internal temperature falls below 18.5 degrees, the CH will click on - as it did this morning.

Yes, mine is the same.
Currently about 19 degrees in my living area, which is warm enough for me as I am still wearing warm slippers and a jumper!
It is cold, but soon enough people will be complaining it's too hot!

That's because you live in wet mild Wales.

If you lived in Scotland you'd be familiar with cold May.

Last weekend DIL and I went to Inverewe gardens. It rained some of the time. I'm fat, she is " softly rounded not thin".

I wore a cotton t shirt under a light unlined cotton jacket, carried an umbrella. never felt cold.

Dil was freezing; she wore a down waistcoat under a quilted down jacket and her hands were white (she has Reynauds)

This week, we had snow on the mountains and hail at the allotment, where my lettuce (outdoors, unprotected) have survived fine and my tomatoes ( in unheated GHouse) are thriving.

So am I wales786. I presume you live in Wales as do I. We have the fire lit. Lovely

I'm a 'cauld tattie ' too so today had footless tights on under my trousers, and 3 layers on top half, a cotton vest top, a long sleeved t shirt and lined fleece zip up. It's sunny here in Angus but cold for me. But maybe that's because I have hypothyroidism now.
I always say I'd rather be hungry than cold so I just wrap up warmer when I need to or, in the evenings, turn the heating on.

I’m the opposite. Always hot. Even when it is freezing outside ( for here !). Everyone thinks I’m nuts wearing short sleeves.

It is beastly cold here too (Denmark), I aam bundled up in layers of clothes, the cat has nicked my armchair, as it is raining pitchforks and sshovells so he is staying in, thank you very much, his dear sister has hogged the sofa, and even with the heating on WE ARE COLD.

Yes, we’ve had no heating since before Easter! Long complicated story…
We’re using fan heaters on and off, or having the oven on with the door open in the kitchen, and this morning I have a winter camisole on, plus a polo neck top, plus a gilet, all with a chunky long cardigan on top.
And my sheepskin house boots!

I've had the heating on briefly most days this week, as the house thermostat said 16 degrees.
I had book group guests, and grandchildren to feed this week, and I couldn't ask them to sit wrapped in blankets, so..
I'm not one of those people who are sure that their summers were always glorious in the past, but I do remember warm May days when I was/ should have been revising for exams.

I can remember one year in the 1960s when winter went on so long even the leaves were still in bud in early May and only gradually came out during May.

I used to commute to work by train and I can remember sitting looking out at the still leafless deciduous trees and shrubs and wondering whether they were ever going to come out.

It’s only about 1-2 degrees warmer on average in Wales through the year than it is in Scotland butterandjam, so it’s not by any means mild here, in fact it’s cold. I’m in the mountains, which means we get plenty of rubbish days. I’ve still got the heating on too, looking forward to next week when it is allegedly going to improve.

I am a Mrs Gummidge and always feel the cold more than other people.

Our heating is turned off at night as I like the bedroom cool, but during the day it is usually set to 22° and I will sometimes turn it up to 24° as I am comfortable at that temperature.

If it goes much lower than 22° then my nose and my feet are cold.
