Any one seen the Les Mis film yet? I saw it last night and it was amazing. Can thoroughly recommend it. Ann Hathaway was superb, and it was beautifully done. Don't get me wrong, I think the show was also fantastic, but the film made some parts of the story clearer for me and being able to see the emotion in the actors faces was wonderful. Will stop now as I am running out of adjectives ;) Would love to hear your opinions xx

nana envy I would LOVE to see the film. Perhaps it will come to Campbeltown. The wee cinema is art-deco. A real treat! smile

I can't wait to see it, because Russell Crowe is my ' bad boy' crush. I have no idea why I can't shake it off.

I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to film stars and celebrities. My kind of films at the moment tend to be Ice Age and Shrek sad

HildaW Sat 12-Jan-13 16:48:50

Nothing wrong with those Nanado.........have you seen 'UP' its brill?

Ella46 Sat 12-Jan-13 16:49:27

Gally did you see HJ on the Graham Norton show over Christmas?
Not only does he look gorgeous, but he has a great sense of humour and is very natural. Not up his own jacksy at all! (See what I did there grin )

Nanado Sat 12-Jan-13 16:50:46

That's on the short list drawn up by 6-year old GS who has appointed himself my cultural attaché.

Nanado Sat 12-Jan-13 16:51:28

Grannyeggs Sat 12-Jan-13 16:57:54

You will both love it Nanado, DH and I saw it on our own with no GC.

Have seen the trailer several times now, can't wait to see it.

Marelli Sat 12-Jan-13 17:39:13

Saw the trailer the other day (went to see Quartet the other night - very, very good). I never really fancied the stage version of Les Mis, but the film really does look marvellous. Going on Tuesday! smile

Ella46 Sat 12-Jan-13 17:41:59

Classic FM are just playing all the film score at the moment.
Anne Hathaway has a great voice and apparently, her mother played the same part on stage in the 80s.

Marelli Sat 12-Jan-13 17:48:27

No - I go on Wednesday confused I'm going out with Gally on Tuesday - I knew I'd got two things that I was looking forward to! grin

baubles Sat 12-Jan-13 21:14:36

I've just come home after seeing this. It was simply marvellous, with wonderful performances from all the cast. I loved the stage show but the medium of film allowed us to experience the epic qualities of the novel. I thought it was a masterpiece. Don't forget your hankies!

Nanado Sat 12-Jan-13 22:26:14

Just had an invite from my DD and DDiL, they're taking me to see it for my birthday smile

Someone who saw the film said that if you haven't seen the stage show you could find the film a bit confusing - did anyone find that?
