a) Never eat any dessert again

or

b) Never eat any meat/fish ever again?

Dilemma of the day!

Anagram Tue 19-Jun-12 15:10:16

It wouldn't particularly bother me if I never ate a dessert again, although I'm probably in the minority!

Anagram Tue 19-Jun-12 15:11:47

And it wouldn't be a dilemma for vegetarians/vegans....hmm

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 15:12:42

I'd be fine without meat. Do like a bit of cod or haddock in breadcrumbs or batter though.

I'd probably plump for nourishing desserts if I had to choose.

effblinder Tue 19-Jun-12 15:14:15

What's a "nourishing desser" when it's at home, j04?!

Think I need some of them to replace the chocs...

janthea Tue 19-Jun-12 15:15:18

Dessert and cakes win every time!! cupcake

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 15:29:36

Ummmmm......... Bread and butter pudding made with skimmed milk, wholemeal bread and lots of sultanas with hardly any sugar.

Fruit crumble - wholemeal again - with custard made with skimmed milk.

Pancakes made with skimmed milk. With lemon and small amount sugar.

Oh! You get the idea!!! This is making me hungry. hmm

It doesn't always have to be sticky toffee pudding you know.

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 15:30:39

just sometimes.

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 15:30:49

quite often.

AlisonMA Tue 19-Jun-12 15:42:36

I think I could manage without meat but don't really want to give up a) or b).

Does fruit count as dessert? If it does I'm not playing!

effblinder Tue 19-Jun-12 15:49:47

Haha j, you do make me grin

FeeTee Tue 19-Jun-12 15:52:33

But surely the whole point of desserts is that they are not nourishing?! (Well - they might nourish the soul but I suspect that's not what you meant

jeni Tue 19-Jun-12 16:05:16

Havent really got a sweet tooth. Now a nice nibble of rochefort, or bleu d'auvergne?

Anagram Tue 19-Jun-12 16:07:41

Yes, I think it's cheating to make out you could live on puds alone, jingl! Certainly it's not what the OP had in mind! grin

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 16:11:56

A dessert should be a nourishing part of the meal!

I think you could live on desserts. Include eggs, dried fruits, fresh fruits, wholewheat flour, milk etc.

I'm not saying I would. hmm

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 16:13:10

So, what do you think the OP meant Anagram?

j04 Tue 19-Jun-12 16:14:40

We are having apricot crumble tonight. Nourishing! And good. smile

bakergran Tue 19-Jun-12 16:16:15

You can eat other things, as well as desserts, just not meat or fish.

And NO DESSERTS with meat or fish in them especially. I know you were all looking forward to some beef and custard or sausage cupcakes [bleugh emoticon]

I would be impressed if you could live on just desserts, though - could work in another "would your rather".

Anagram Tue 19-Jun-12 16:17:07

Yes, you probably could. And you couldn't live on meat and fish alone (well, perhaps you could, but you'd have serious vitamin deficiency and probably end up with gout).

jeni Tue 19-Jun-12 16:18:47

Well I do! I don't like veg! Particularly raw!
Anyway anything green is poisonous!

Anagram Tue 19-Jun-12 16:19:46

Lettuce is poisonous? hmm

jeni Tue 19-Jun-12 16:20:58

Very! Ug!

jeni Tue 19-Jun-12 16:22:08

Might manage a little piccalilli or pickled red cabbage!

Bags Tue 19-Jun-12 16:52:51

Does flapjack with coffee count as pudding if you don't eat puddings as such?
