Mmmm thinking about it now grin

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 10:40:29

I've just eaten 4. Should I be worried? grin

glammanana Tue 23-Oct-12 10:48:08

If they where 4 quarters you should be OK ? not daring to ask how big they where grin oh stop it ! peanut butter and bananas shouting at me from the kitchen now eat me eat me eat me

Hmm - I just had a banana that would have been greatly enhanced by a couple of bits of bread and a dollop of peanut butter. You are leading us astray <runs to Tesco>

glammanana Tue 23-Oct-12 10:48:54

Where is that glass when you need her ??

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 10:55:23

hmmm ... they weren't four quarters, they were 4 halves.

The thing is, half a banana is the perfect banana/peanut butter ratio for 2 pieces of bread. That meant half a banana would have been shamefully wasted if i had not used it.

I think of these things!

If you take a bite of banana, a spoon of Greek yoghurt and a spoon of peanut butter you could almost kid yourself it's Banoffee Pie...almost!

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 11:03:32

Sel phwoar!

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 11:07:04

Banana & condensed milk sandwiches aren't too awful either.....blush

MMM, I love banana and peanut butter sandwiches, banana sandwiches were a treat we were given as children. I seem to remember white sugar on white bread and butter being issued occasionally, yum!

Maniac Tue 23-Oct-12 12:16:17

Prefer banana and marmalade sandwiches.-especially with my home-made marmalade!

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 12:21:09

Banana and marmalade?
Can't wait to get home and try!

glammanana Tue 23-Oct-12 12:31:00

Why am I drawn back to this thread ?? grin must get shower and go to Morrisons and stock up on peanut butter.

tanith Tue 23-Oct-12 13:01:33

I wish I could enjoy one , I love banana sandwiches but I find the texture of peanut butter blah!!!! I like the taste but the texture makes it stick in my throat and I can't eat it !
I remember sugar sandwiches too..smile the lady downstairs used to give them to us and said 'don't tell your Mum'.

Ella46 Tue 23-Oct-12 13:06:29

Strawberry jam and banana toasted sandwich is just yummy. grin

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 13:12:37

toasted? Did you say TOASTED? Oh. My. Word.

baNANA Tue 23-Oct-12 13:41:24

Cream cheese, banana and honey, divine! A lot of people say uuugh when I describe it, but I knew a sandwich bar who used this combination when I worked in London a while ago and it had many devotees, in fact that's where I first discovered it and have never looked back. Whilst I like peanut butter I wouldn't want it with banana, although in America it seems peanut butter goes with anything and everything like peanut and jello, horrible!

petallus Tue 23-Oct-12 13:42:57

Peanut butter and banana; one of my favourites. Rather high in calories though, especially with the amount of peanut butter I use.

feldmarschallin Tue 23-Oct-12 13:44:33

Little drizzle of honey on your peanut butter & banana sandwich - it's the missing link!

Beachee Tue 23-Oct-12 14:14:38

this day just gets better and better smile

baNANA Tue 23-Oct-12 14:22:36

feldmarshallin - a drizzle of honey is not enough, you need the cream cheese to bulk it up, you can of course use low fact cream cheese if you are counting the calories but I promise you biting into the holy trinity of cream cheese, banana and honey is nearly as good as munching on a big fat banoffee pie!
