Today I made my first ever batch of macaroons. They are delicious but do not have the glossy top I was hoping for. I did the recommended tapping of tray and leaving to dry out before baking. All the recipes on line seem to have slightly different proportions of ingredients, has anyone a foolproof one? I was wanting to give these as a gift, but instead I shall have to eat them myself, what a shame!
