Recipe for yoghurt cake.

I still use it too. If you use sweetened yoghourt it's best to cut down on the sugar though. I use up any yoghourts the GCs don't eat to make it, so usually cut the sugar down to 9oz. It's great for cake sales with a bit of icing on top.

Hi grandma I also have this recipe, the one I have starts with a small (150ml) tub of yoghurt emptied into a bowl and then you use the tub for all the rest of the measuring. So I use all different flavoured yoghurts depending on what mood I'm in smile. A fool proof recipe.

1 5oz carton of yoghurt
1 5oz of oil
12ozs of sugar
12ozs SR flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of lemon juice.

Beat together yoghurt, oil and sugar
Add eggs
Add flour then lemon juice.

bake in loaf tin
190C for 90 mins.

I got this recipe 40 years ago and used it very often as small people loved it. I would check the time though as I haven't made this for many years.
