Annsixty Only just caught up here again - smoked salmon pasta is dead easy the way I do it - I always use fresh pasta as rather impatient waiting for the dry stuff the cook! In a large pan ( I use my trusty wok ) I have a small amount of oil and cook a small onion diced and some mushrooms and if you like it a clove of garlic - have the salmon cut into pieces - when all looking good I add a couple of spoonfuls of crème Fraiche to the wok and stir it in and as it melts throw in the salmon. Stir around so all melted and well mixed - salmon changes colour then I drain the pasta and add it to the wok and stir all in. I usually take the pasta out with tongs or a pasta spoon and add to wok so it is not dried and sticky in a sieve/ colander. Also if the sauce needs loosening you add a spoonful of the hot pasta water. Parmesan on top of you fancy it - and think of Montalbano as you eat it!

Riverwalk, I like the idea of using wraps as pizza bases - I had never thought of that. I will definitely be trying it soon

Warburton do square wraps which are so useful particularly when the grandchildren visit.

They're soft and pliable even when cut in half and heated in the toaster.

And they make a great thin base for pizza.

I have started keeping some tortilla wraps in the freezer. Even a tiny amount of left-over stew or chilli con carne (or whatever I happen to have left over) becomes a simple, tasty and filling meal when wrapped in those.

The chicken in cider sounds good.
All we've got left now is one elderly bag of salad and some nasty looking spiced beetroot. I'm on strike as far as the beetroot goes.

Oh, and one helping each of sticky toffee pudding. Yes!!

Rustling up a nice meal out of left-overs is great. Often a stir fry with some
barley, noodles or rice- or a fritatta type omelette with a bit of gruyère on top and grilled, with a salad. Or some pasta dish.

Aldi's hot smoked salmon is tasty and extremely good value.

Try chicken joints braised with dry cider chicken stock, apple wedges and creme fraiche.

Before Christmas someone suggested chicken joints with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and roasted. Whoever this was thank you so much. You are my BFF

annsixty a quick and easy recipe I often do is, a cheese sauce, not too strong, with some hot smoked salmon stirred in, if you have some fresh herbs, parsley or coriander, whatever your taste, just to make it look pretty. You can add whatever you have at hand, a couple of mushrooms or not.

Bez please give us a rough recipe for Smoked salmon pasta I love it when eating out but I have never made it.

I do love banana's when they are brown and speckly I always look for them on the reduced section when going into any Supermarket they go down a treat so easy to digest.

Just discovered 2 bananas in the cool of the vegetable rack, also bought with children in mind. Felt them gingerly, skin may be browning but internals felt firm. I do not like bananas myself but DH does, but he is finicky and judges from the outside. Anyway, cross fingers, he agreed they felt OK and says he will eat them, probably with his daily yoghourt.

Smoked salmon pasta will need to be on our menu again - just wondering if enough time has elapsed since we last had it !

My freezer must is frozen paella. You can bung anything in it.

I just with I could stop throwing away coleslaw and beetroot. I always end up chucking some away and I keep on doing it, it really upsets my hubby. Perhaps that's why I do it.

Is it a generation thing do you think, my daughter is useless at using up food.

Turkey pie today and then we're down to only two lots of frozen turkey. I wonder if we've got any Peppa Pig yoghurts left. We definitely had some.

Shame about the two thirds of a packet of leftover trifle sponge fingers I scoffed, once DH had gone out.

Well this one was made with a jar of Korma sauce from the Co-op. And I added a packet Waitrose spinach.

It was healthy! The rice was whole grain.

Jingle - the genuine vindaloo, from Goa, is usually made with pork - Goa is a largely Catholic island, so no hang-ups about friend pig.

I boiled some rice - and with it, DH is, at this moment, eating a left over curry which was in the freezer, while I had some left over frozen roast beef which I turned into a stir fry with a few veg and one of those saucy sachet things.

We had (leftover) turkey pie followed by leftover Heston Blumenthal's chocolate caramel swirl with leftover cream. Is there any other sort of food?

That reminds me - better eat those Peppa Pig yoghurts before they go out of date!
