I'd join it with you, Versavisa. The topping I made for a mincemeat Bakewell at Christmas was equally delicious.

I just can't have marzipan in the house. No good at all. It gets squirreled away in places that only I know about and nibbled* till there's none left for the cake.

I don't think DH has found out yet, but I'm wondering if there is a branch of Marzipan Anonymous I could attend?

* actually eaten in one go till not feeling very well!

I have got an addiction to those Haribo Tangfastics. They are jellies coated in that bitter sugary stuff and I just can't stop once I start on them.

I wouldn't dare buy Magnums grumppa they are particularly yummy and I would simply have to eat the whole box.

Tie a tea towel round your neck, grumppa. Alternatively, strip off.

Magnums... magnums... calling to meeee.....

No, Son is back to uni this weekend, I can blame the absence of ice cream on him, the diet starts then. I think. As I finished off the tub of Karamel Sutra when I got home last night and DBH was in bed, I am not going to replace it this time. I have a party the following weekend and need to be able to get into a posh frock.

Sunseeker, chocolate coating falling off Magnums has caused more shirt (and occasionally tie) disasters than I care to recall. They should never be eaten sitting in a car, but leaning over the railing of a promenade so that the shrapnel falls on someone else.

Is that all, sunseeker?

sunseeker Wed 29-Jan-14 14:31:01

Magnum ice cream for me too anno - do you realise that the Classic (my favourite) is 240 calories shock.

The two things that I devour when I'm having an attack of the late night munchies are crisps and ice cream. Once I start I just keep going. And yet, most of the year I don't eat either. Some remaining jam tarts [3]were calling to me last night so I ate them at 9 to get rid of them. Years ago we had a power cut that lasted for a week and we had to eat loads of mint ice cream before it melted [there were also lots of kippers]. For some reason it put me of kippers for life, but didn't work with the ice cream. Can still remember me and the kids sat under a duvet on the sofa in the dark eating the ice cream.

My DGD thinks I am odd because I don't like ice cream. Unfortunately there are plenty of other things I do like!

Anne58 Wed 29-Jan-14 13:08:16

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 29-Jan-14 13:03:06

janerowena Wed 29-Jan-14 11:57:11

Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra. My OH thinks it's the same tub from before xmas, but it's the third.

tanith Wed 29-Jan-14 11:50:54

I managed to give away any 'Christmassy' leftovers, but there is a tub of coffee ice-cream that calls to me every evening. I did keep the dates and have just one or two a day as I read how good they are for you..

petallus Wed 29-Jan-14 11:48:37

I think it's pretty good, waiting a whole month before finishing off the icecream.

At the moment I have a tin of fortnum and Mason biscuits tormenting me from the sideboard.

rosesarered Wed 29-Jan-14 11:33:54

As I have just started a diet this week, all sweets are off limits to me! However, Maltesers are my down fall, and popcorn, I can't leave any standing.blush

annodomini Wed 29-Jan-14 11:33:18

Any kind of Magnum or the Waitrose and Lidle clones. They call to me from the freezer.

Mishap Wed 29-Jan-14 11:32:38

Liquorice is a potent laxative - I hope it is doing you good brenda.

Stansgran Wed 29-Jan-14 11:29:46

Toblerone for me.

Brendawymms Wed 29-Jan-14 11:26:53

I can't eat one Bassetts liquorice Allsort I have to eat whole packet even if I feel sick so don't buy them. Same with any jelly type sweet. It's called sugar addiction these days!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 29-Jan-14 11:17:04

...having secretly pigged out feasted with abandonment on a whole tub of left-over-from-Xmas Walls soft scoop and deliciously creamy Vanilla ice cream, I had a quick run through of the Paul McKenna web chat to see if I could find some advice.

I came across this, "If you can't have one piece of chocolate without demolishing an entire bar, the chocolate is in charge and not you."

shock This is so true!

From now on I am determined to be in charge. Me! Not the cake/biscuits/ice cream/dolly mixtures.

# trots off to Co-op for packet of custard creams to prove she can do this. #new woman smile
