Cake in a mug

I use this one - but I do have a pint mug! I would use a pudding basin to be on the safe side.

Actually, I don't use it, my son does. Use a skewer to see if it is cooked through. I suppose eggs, tablespoons and mugs all vary in size so it is always going to be a bit hit and miss.

Does anyone have a foolproof recipe for a microwave cake in a mug? I don't want to experiment as I might have to eat the samples and my DGS loves cooking. I thought he might like to try doing this but the recipes seem to have mixed responses ie too dry, too eggy, too tough. If he doesn't like the first one he may not persevere and he is always hungry.
