If there were 3 'can't live withouts' what would they be? Not just things you like, but 3 things that you would crave forever if you were denied them.
Mine; Earl Grey Tea
marmalade
cheese

Interesting isn't it? Only one chocolate so far Nanalogue perhaps we women are not as choccy mad as people think? Tea is coming top of the pops regarding food stuffs, HollyDaze has an edible hot water bottle, and cheese, bread, bacon, and eggs popular too. Only Galen says any alchohol so far.Ask your Dh's, S.O's and partners/boyfriends as well, we will see if male must haves are similar or very different? smile

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 14:52:47

Or yogurt covered raisins? wink

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 14:56:49

I would hate to think I could never eat Madeira cake, marzipan, or cherries.

At the moment cherries ars the only one of those I can eat. #godsend #soddingdiet

sunseeker Tue 08-Jul-14 15:13:51

Coffee, crisps, Magnum ice cream (no wonder I am overweight!!!)

rubysong Tue 08-Jul-14 15:20:16

Marmite
Wholemeal bread
Wine wine

rosesarered Tue 08-Jul-14 15:21:47

CariGransnet grin technically that's either too many or too few?If I am being a pedant, then chocolate [in it's many forms] is really only one thing, so you have 2 choices left, choose wisely!

Oooooh - hot buttered toast with marmite (rarely have but a real treat). And cherries. Straight from the fridge.

(Btw grew up on marmite and lettuce sandwiches (no butter, always iceberg, highly recommend)

annodomini Tue 08-Jul-14 15:37:31

Apples
Lettuce sandwiches on good wholemeal bread
Well - if I must - dark chocolate

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 15:38:52

Oh yes ! Lettuce sandwiches! With salt. smile

janerowena Tue 08-Jul-14 15:57:42

With a small smear of salad cream, not mayonnaise.

All that chocolate, Cari?

It 'only' took me two years to train myself off eating a small bar every night! Now down to one a week, but heavens it was tough at the beginning. Otherwise it would definitely have been on the list.

Elegran Tue 08-Jul-14 16:01:49

You are both wrong about the lettuce sandwich. It needs a drizzle of wine vinegar and a light sprinkle of sugar (granulated for the crunch)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 16:04:06

Oh! Not the crunch!!! shock #teethonedge

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 16:05:11

Crunch is good in bread and lard with sugar on it.

(No! I haven't had in years!)

janerowena Tue 08-Jul-14 16:16:20

Oh nonononono! shock What did our parents do to us! grin My grandmother waxed lyrical about sugar sandwiches. My mother about condensed milk sandwiches, and my grandfather about lashings of condensed milk in his tea.

Nelliemoser Tue 08-Jul-14 16:20:53

Tea. Marmite on brown toast and cheese.

It was more wishful thinking. Chocolate every day but only a couple of squares (oh the self control)

Unless it's been a really bad day grin

Loads of exercise though - average an hour a day minimum

janerowena Tue 08-Jul-14 16:54:31

I've tried the 'only a couple of squares a day, but I could hear the rest of the bar calling to me, even when it was in the freezer. So, it had to go. It's all or nothing. DBH buys me a small bar no more than once a week, and hands it over as if

A he fears I may bite his hand off

B he is my pusher, but not proud of it.

Ana Tue 08-Jul-14 16:59:23

Still feeling sick at the thought of a lard and sugar sandwich....[Yuk! emoticon]

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 08-Jul-14 17:24:06

You'd be surprised what they fed me when I was a kid. And I yearn for it now ! Tried bread and sunflower spread with sugar on it. Did n't do the job. sad

thatbags Tue 08-Jul-14 17:42:02

I'm going to try that sometime. No worse than butter and jam really, except perhaps on the flavour front. I eat butter every day but there usually isn't any jam in the house.

I can't think of anything I couldn't live without. Most things I have lived without for longish periods of my life so I guess I could again.

At the moment tea would probably be what I'd miss the most along with date slices to eat with it.
