Next year I'm 70 (I should live so long)
No 70th birthday party but a 21-again party:hooray, I was 21 in 1967 so the music will be great!
The food's my concern, there are 5 GC aged from 3-17 (now) and their parents and assorted adults.
I'm cooking: I eat fish not meat, all others are omnivores.Any ideas?
Steak is too dear,thank you!
I thought melon boats or prawn cocktail to start and black forest gateau or fruit salad pud,but it's the mains...

Ladies I salute you! What a wealth of memories and suggestions. On a practical level, I was trying to find 1 fish,1 meat main that could share the same veg/accompaniments to save the Birthday Baggage too much work!
Will have great fun thinking my way around these:you are a great bunch!

I bought some babycham glasses with the little bambi on from eBay for my 1960s party and we had cherries on sticks! We also has cheese straws, cheese and onion pie, avocado mousse, crisps , Black Forest gateau and trifle, 1960s dress code and music - it was fab!

suzied did they have a tiny hole just above the stem from which bubbles rose? I still have 4/6 in the loft.

Ooh no that sound fab! Mine have gold rims. I think I bought 12 for under £20.

My friend and I hd a joint 21st party in 1967. The party food was mainly sausages on sticks, cheese and pineapple and a cocktail pickled onion on sticks, and the piece de resistance was rollmops wrapped round a piece of bread - on a stick! We were art students so reckoned ourselves pretty cutting edge!

I only tried chicken Maryland once. I thought it was hard work getting it all together at the same time.
