Yes Lona, until 1995 when I retired we still had those green cups in the staff room. Only used for visitors though. Plus a tin of mixed biscuits, which the staff who didn't bring any lunch, ate .

I saw Lemon puffs in Morrisons a couple weeks ago, but they were round and not the sticky oblong ones I used to like. Just as well really .... lol

Small rich tea - they tasted better than rich tea! Also thin wine biscuits I loved, especially with St Ivel lactic cheese, and you can't get that now either.

Jamborees. Shortcake biscuits with a pink and white mallow layer and jam in the middle. Desiccated coconut on top. We used to dismantle them and eat every bit separately, which got a tad sticky and messy.

Vienna biscuits - triangles of wafer biscuit covered in dark chocolate. Expensive and a very rare treat when I was growing up!

You can still get pink wafers too. I LOVED lemon puffs - haven't seen those for a very long time.

Morning coffee biscuits remind me of primary school, when in the top class so 10-11 years old, it was considered a great honour to be chosen to make a pot of tea for the teachers common room.It was a large teapot and a large kettle on the gas stove! You then put out lots of teacups and saucers, all pale green,sugarlumps, and a jug of milk, emptied the ashtrays, and also put out a big plate of morning coffee biscuits ( snaffling a few as you worked.)The headmaster also collared pupils to run to the shop ( not that near) to buy his cigarettes.

Yes, you can still get Marie biscuits, both McVitie and Crawford make them (and there may be supermarket versions too). I like Morning Coffee biscuits - you can still get those as well.

What good memories you all have! I can't think of any biscuits not in the shops, try as I might, hmmn,maybe though... Pink wafer ones? Oh,and what about Marie biscuits ( or have I just imagined that name?)

Remember broken biscuits in the tin BBevan, bought them in a brown paper bag, man-handled without gloves! I like lemon puffs but have not seen those around for some time.
