Has anybody tried the new ice cream from Waitrose ( the ad is on tv) chocolate ice cream with Sicilian blood orange sorbet? It sounds yummy, who will be noble and test it out first for us??

I finally managed to get the choc ice cream with blood orange sorbet from Waitrose, and you're right, it's absolutely gorgeous!
So, thanks very much for recommending it, even though you’ve caused me to ruin yet another attempt at dieting grin

Finally got the chocolate/orange sorbet in Waitrose ... yummy!!! smile
Thankfully not something I feel the need to be eating too often (at the price) but for an occasional treat, definitely something we'll buy again. grin

i love icecream with or without bits - but preferably with.
but i HATE chocolate icecream!!
as a child mum used to buy a neapolitan "brick" and i used to have two strawberry squares with my vanilla one - my brother, who hated strawberry icecream, used to have two chocolate squares and one vanilla.
i used to be able to get lovely icecream from tesco - rum and raisin, tutti frutti [i think it was] and a marvellous mint choc chip but you can't get them now. pity as i'd certainly leave room in the freezer for them.
so i won't be buying the chocolate icecream with blood orange sorbet - although i think i might be investigating the other flavours.

Bought some rum and raisin( didn't have enough bits!) Carte D'or, it was on offer, but is so disappointing!

I love ice cream. I love it so much I tend not to keep it in the freezer at home since I would eat the whole tub at once, and have done so many times.

I don't mind anybody's brand as long as it does not have bits in it. There should be law against 'bits' smile

For this reason I could not eat a Mcflurry.

Give me soft delicious creamy ice cream (don't mind juice running through it)and I'm in heaven

Went yesterday, absolutely gutted as they had an empty shelf where the chocolate and blood orange should have been.sad

I'll be back!

sweetcakes I've made several of Nigella's condensed milk gelatos, although I found I had to reduce the amount of condensed milk because it was just too sweet. So easy to make without all that freezing and beating.

My Waitrose spy tells me there's a branch in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow.

Waitrose is where I do most of my shopping but nothing frozen - it would melt because I'm on foot. I like the Co-op's 'Loved by us' ice-cream range, the list of ingredients is quite short and there is a variety of flavours and as it's on my doorstep it's still frozen when I get home.

It's yummy

Have fallen back in love with ice cream now I have GC.
Our local restaurant sells Turkish Delight ice-cream.
I told them how much I enjoyed it and they have let me in to a secret that they get it from a local farm.
Will be paying it a visit quite soon.
In the past my favorite was Rum and Raisin.
But I like fresher flavors now.
So will be trying Waitrose hopefully in not too distant future.
I need to lose a stone so will have to limit myself to a few licks a day!

Does anyone think the orange sorbet will be less fattening or is there a lot of sugar in it?

We don't have Waitrose by us either, think closest is about 25 miles away

Gosh sweetcakes that is a blast from the past my mother used to make ice cream using condensed milk.

sweetcakes Sun 12-Jun-16 15:37:48

Has anyone else tried making nigella Lawson espresso ice cream made with condensed milk it's really easy and smooth I've made it a couple of times and it doesn't last long in freezer though DH finds it and it's gone.

oldgajin Tesco vanilla ice cream [in the oval box) is actually pretty good, ditto their chocolate.

rosesarered Sun 12-Jun-16 14:05:13

Molly your earlier message is still there! Is it a must go to Specsavers moment? grin

Molly10 Sun 12-Jun-16 13:27:36

Hmmm! Now why did my earlier message disappear?

Katek, you can always order on line!

I have not tried any Waitrose ice cream but will get some this week.

C'Art Dor is lovely.

I love Magnums too but the peanut butter one is disappointing.

Alea Sun 12-Jun-16 12:44:04

There is certainly one in Morningside (well there would be, wouldn't here? grin )

oldgaijin Sun 12-Jun-16 12:17:00

Ooooh Waitrose! One of the few reasons I look forward to going South of the border. I think there is one in Edinburgh but 200 plus miles is a hell of a way to go for an ice cream. We just have beastly Tesco.

Alea Sun 12-Jun-16 11:57:23

No it's not Hazelnut Coconut and lime!
It's Hazelnut.
There is also Coconut and Lime.
Do they do a Vanilla and Ginger? Must try that!!

Ramblingrose22 Sun 12-Jun-16 11:48:58

nelliemoser - you have mentioned an ice cream maker!

I've been looking for one that doesn't involve a lot of faff -eg taking the stuff out of the freezer umpteen times to make the ice crystals smaller.

If yours is faff-free, please can you give make and model details?

Thanks.

SueDoku Sun 12-Jun-16 10:39:52

Will someone PLEASE tell Kelly's to restart making their ice cream with golden syrup in it... I've had withdrawal symptoms for two years since they discontinued it... shock

rosesarered Sun 12-Jun-16 10:36:08

Grannyknot that recipe sounds lovely, easy too.

rosesarered Sun 12-Jun-16 10:35:19

Ginger and vanilla! where can I buy that? I must have it!
