just going to log out and make us a snack [DH calling for some hungrily] and watch some tv.Can't decide, crunchy nut cornflakes, cheese and crackers [some nice Wensleydale with cran berries in the fridge] or just a cup of tea and digestive biscuit.Find having a little something aids sleep later, what do others like to have?

My favourite late night snack is malt loaf spread with butter.

A cuppa and some rich tea bicuits is my favourite 'snackette' near bedtime. DGD age 2 calls them 'naughty bikkits', 'cos she's not allowed sweet things, but she does enjoy a wee treat, and a sleep-over at Nanna's means supper! smile

OO-er, I came across some cheese biscuits the other day when delving at the back of a cupboard. They were dated 2007. They didn't smell very nice. [surprise]

Toast a slice of bread; rub with a clove of garlic then plaster with butter - yum!

Luckygirl Mon 27-Jun-16 22:04:51

Or add fried tomatoes.

I have just discovered a very satisfying snackette.....for any time of the day.
Roasted Salted Peanuts with sweet seedless grapes, green or red, as long as theyre juicy.
The salt from the peanuts is "washed away" by the juicy grapes. Gorgeous they are together. sunshine
I enjoy them both with salad too.

You have done it now, luckygirl. Fried tomatoes on toast for today's lunch.
Nom nom nom grin

Our dinner at home when we are not feeling hungry is either cheese of toast rubbed with garlic or boiled eggs and toast. When I am ill and in bed, my friend always makes me mashed potato in a heatproof bowl with two raw eggs broken into hole made in the mash. Then under the grill until the potato is lovely and brown and the eggs cooked. There are times when I adore my friend!

May we all share your friend miep?smile

I enjoy a bowl of sugar free cereal and milk before I go to bed. Of course I'd much rather have honey nut cornflakes or cheerios but I am trying to cut down on sugar. When is the 'thinking' going to change and they decide that sugar is REALLY GOOD FOR US? cupcake

Spangles - malt loaf is sooo good, have to wait for friends to bring it over to France from UK. It's worth the wait.

Tonight my snackette was a slice of golden, slightly bubbling cheese on toast (mature cheddar) with tiny bits of cut up spring onion sprinkled on it.It was gone all too quickly.

Oh dear, I've been to a pub quiz. And I've had gin, and chips. Then more gin, and more chips. I wouldn't care, but I don't normally even like chips (I am very partial to a g & t though).
