If you had eaten a full roast dinner four hours ago (resisting dessert)......

..... and you could have anything you liked for your tea, what would you have?

Fatness or any other health hazards can be totally disregarded.

For me: Cucumber sarnies, sherry trifle, a slice of cold treacle tart, and a piece of Victoria sponge sandwich. I can dream can't I? Sigh.

I would not need anything else to eat- I would be more than happy with a mug of coffee.

we did and I am not putting another meal anywhere near myself lol ,it was to be shared but nose turned up and I ate it nearly all . nice coffee and a plain biscuit will do me .LOcal Spar does takeaway Sunday dinners so got GS to fetch it , no cooking lol

Tea and one cake would do me.
I'd probably fancy some supper about 9ish. Maybe cheese and crackers.

Had a houseful today so if anyone still feels peckish they can forget it help themselves to whatever they find in the fridge.

I'm half way down a well earned G&T. grin

I'm with Charleygirl brew

hildajenniJ Sun 14-Aug-16 22:40:53

I'd just need a sandwich of some sort, possibly a slice of meat from the dinner between two pieces of bread. A cup of tea too, I'm not a fussy woman.

willsmadnan Sun 14-Aug-16 23:06:50

Cheese and biscuits... preferably a bit of runny brie, goats,or a nice bit of ' Wensleydale, Grommit-' with the remains of the lunch time wine, or ....if I'm feeling really self-indulgent, some Ben and Jerry's ice cream ...preferably cookie dough..... with a glass of Baileys. Well you might as well get hung for a sheep as a lambgrin

Crunchy nut cornflakes smile

I'd have a sandwich with cold roast meat and a cup of tea.

That would partly be because when I am chief cook and caterer, comes to time to eat, I don't really feel like it. So sitting down after everyone has left with that sandwich, is a treat.

Bellanonna Mon 15-Aug-16 08:43:05

I'd still feel full from lunch, so just a cup of tea.

westieyaya Mon 15-Aug-16 08:56:17

Some homemade bread, toasted with butter and marmalade followed by cheese and biscuits and a milky decaf - it was after 9.

Pinkshoes26 Mon 15-Aug-16 09:30:43

Maybe a ham sandwich and pint of tap water.
I am realy into drinking water

Elrel Mon 15-Aug-16 09:32:23

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel would be good but last night it was I slice of whole meal toast and thick cut Oxford marmalade! The Cretan Mountain tea sat cooling at my bedside all night. I drank it this morning!

Pinkshoes26 Mon 15-Aug-16 09:44:56

Oh yes! If eating the dinner out, I have got quite crafty! I make sure I sit next to my husband and then put half on his plate. I am not a hudge eater but the main reason is I like to chew my food and it takes longer to eat than just in and swallow like some people do (Studyed this a bit, through watching). = I am not last to clear my plate when eating with family and friends. I realy hate it when every one is waiting for me to clear my plate.

A full roast dinner means different things to different people. Assuming it means meat, vegetables, potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, there is no way I could have eaten the whole of it. I can't force food down myself. When I'm full I stop. I wouldn't want anything else for the rest of the day. I find that often does happen nowadays. I just cannot manage so much food.

Yesterday we had Open Gardens here and I did English Teas. Shortbread, chocolate chip cupcakes, scones raspberry jam and cream (well what passes for double cream in France) and freshly picked raspberry tarts. Earl Grey and Darjeeling tea in inherited silver teapots, bone china and silver cutlery. Impressed the French no end and I scoffed along with them. The French don't 'get' cucumber sandwiches which would have rounded it all off nicely. Glass or two of chilled rose later. Just eaten the left over scone etc - feel very full and sick so shall take the dogs for a walk in the blazing sun and probably feel sicker. hey ho living the dream.
