Sadly grandson in now 10 and the specialists think he won't grow out of this terrible egg allergy now- he should have done by the age of 7. Such a worry as he will be going on to secondary school next year- and will have to be in a mcuh less protected environment and have to carry his epipen and antihistamines himself all the time and have to make a decision as to calling help or not. A worrying time- especially as so many people now do not take real life-threatening allergies seriously, as so many say they are 'allergic' to this, that and the other

I hope DGS will grow out of his allergies but as he is only 3 we may have a while to go.

My DD uses flax seeds, she uses gluten free flours too as she has many intolerances.

Grannynot using Mayonaisse instead is useless it's made of egg.

Eggless choc cake

2 dessertsp. golden syrup
1 dessertsp. treacle
(I use all golden syrup myself)
4 oz marg
1 teaspoon bicarb.
1 1/2 cup milk

melt on low heat

2.5 cup sr flour or flour + 1 level teasp. baking powder
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder

Sieve in large bowl and mix, add liquid and mix slowly.

Into 7 or 8 inch sandwich tin, mod overn for 30-35 mins till firm to touch.

I have one my grandkids love- also due to severe egg allergy- going to look for it now. See you in a mo.
