Anyone got one of these?

But it isn't just a pressure cooker Skw. It's a pressure cooker, a slow cooker, a steamer, a rice cooker, a yoghurt maker, a warmer, and it sautés food. I will be able to get rid of my slow cooker, steamer and yoghurt maker. This will do all those jobs. One gadget instead of 3, so it will even save space in my kitchen!

Also available on EBay, with 'buy it now option', at a much lesser price - careful tho, there are varying models.

Tell us about your experience when this pot arrives and you try it out.

At the moment I have two slow cookers - a large one and a small one, one plastic rice cooker that goes in the microwave. I do not use a yogurt maker I used when father in law was staying with us. Ihave a pressure cooker into which I use mostly for making stock from chicken carcass.

Have two pressure cookers (one inherited) which I only realy use for making stock.they are aluminium .Presumably occasional use wont kill us? (I thought aluminium was supposed to help prevent Alzheimer's...Will google)
I also have a huge slo cooker which I use for batch cooking casseroles .Very useful .I quite like the smell of dinner cooking wafting through my house!As does DH .

I had my first pressure cooker in 1949. I used to cook a marrow bone to use the stock for baby food and the resulting fat for pastry (fats were rationed). Over the years it was used for bottling fruit, making jam, cooking ba con joints, stews, rice, steamed puddings etc. I had a small one for use when camping and caravanning. Unfortunately have had to give up using it because at my age and disability it is too heavy and dangerous. Both my daughter in law and granddaughter would not be without theirs.

I've got an electric pressure cooker that does lots of other things, e.g. slow cooker, rice cooker etc. Best Buy ever. No noise, no guess work, no fear of explosions. I've used it nearly everyday for three years and wouldn't be without it. Just made carrot and coriander soup in 6 mins and it will stay warm until lunchtime.

By the way, in answer to Ana's comment about the large capacity - having looked at recipes, reviews, tips and so on, I can see now why it needs to be this size. There are many recipes, e.g. using ingredients that 'swell', like grains, beans and so on, where the pot must be only half filled. Also, when pressure cooking virtually anything, there needs to be enough room above the food/liquid level for steam to build up to pressure. So the 6L is really referring to the size of the thing, not the volume of food you can cook.

The Instant Pot had been priced at £129.99 on Amazon before Christmas and yesterday it was £99.99. I was going to 'sleep on it' but had no way of knowing how long that price would hold, so I decided not to wait.
So glad I made that impulse decision - I've just checked, and it's now £109.99!

I've had my old pressure cooker for over 50 years and use it all the time. I have never bought a new one, as they don't seem to be as big as the one I've already got. This new one sounds just the job. Might buy one myself but I'd hate to lose my old friend!

*Never& Aluminium is said to increase the risk of dementia. Not the opposite.
I have had a pressure cooker since I left home. Use it for stock, for cooking pulses, when I can't get them in tins, and for making TONS of marmalade... [i used to make about 800 pots p.s. to sell for my church]. Wonderful invention!

My only concern would be spare parts. pressure cookers need seals and safety valves replaced from time to time. Spares for Tower and prestige cookers are available from the year dot, will this one be as well supported.

Oops I have just bought one. First Amazon said it could not be delivered abroad and the price was £106.99. When I went back on later it said it could be delivered and the price was £99.99.

My husband and I have a pact of no clothes buying this year and he is banned from going on eBay as well. But it isn't an item of clothing is it? ;)

Not showing my man he will want one. He loves a kitchen gadget.

Those of you with one of these lovely looking pots - can you cook things such as Christmas puddings in it - I always cook mine in my pressure cooker but the seal is not so good now and I gave been unable to get a replacement.

JackyB like you I was worried about using my old aluminium pressure cooker, and also I now use an induction hob. I found Kuhn Rikon stainless steel pressure cookers in a wide variety of sizes, not many stockists but I bought mine online. However I actually found that I didn't use the new one as much as I thought I would - so many things I used to use it for can now be cooked pretty fast in the microwave anyway. Still great for marmalade though!

Congratulations on your purchase, and at a cheaper price too!
Knowing that there are three slow cooker settings, it's starting to look like a good idea.
I've got quite a big kitchen, (21ft by 13ft) so am not pushed for space, but if I was, I'd definitely consider one of these.
For now however, I'll be sticking with my separate slow cooker, pressure cooker, steamer, and yoghurt maker!

When the girls were small (they're now in their 30s) I used my pressure cooker almost every day but I haven't used it now for a long time. My slow cooker (three settings) is in use several times a week, really useful when I'm out in the mornings so dinner is ready when I get back (dinner at lunchtime that is). DD1 cooks a joint of beef in her slow cooker overnight and it has the most delicious gravy. Great for steaming puddings, no steam and it frees up a hob.

Wbits I have tried all sorts of places and one stockist tried to order me one to be told they didn't do them any more - mine is a stainless steel Tefal I think.

Daisyboots, way to go! No it's not clothing, nor did it come from eBay, so your DH has no grounds for complaint, haha!

Wobbly I agree getting spares could become a concern. But the Instant Pot seems to be a very, very popular item on both sides of 'the pond', so I'm hoping this won't be an issue.

Indinana, the reason for the clothes buying ban is that my husbsnd is a shopaholic. Plus we recently spent 4 weeks in Florida and we both bought a lot of clothes there as we are both tall and large and live in a country of small people so impossible to buy clothes or shoes to fit us here. Plus I have lots of clothes in smaller sizes (some never worn) so I thought it might help with trying to diet. ;)

I've had a pressure cooker since I was 19. Used it heaps when I had a family and bought a new one ten or fifteen years ago. Don't use it much now and I'm not sure why as I use a slow cooker and if I think about it as I have since reading this post, I think a pressure cooker is better. Food is tastier. Don't buy one though if you think it's going to be stuck in your cupboard and brought out once or twice a year (like my George Forman grill). There are too many kitchen items on sale to lure you into buying. All they do is make money for the maker.

I bought (King Pressure Pro- www.pressurekingpro.co.uk ) one a few months ago and have never regreted it for a moment.
I got rid of my slow cooker and old pressure cooker and now only use this.
Yesterday made the most delicious oxtail stew with red wine and veg which took only 40 mins from start to finish I have made a meat loaf, chicken curry and many other dishes very successfully. Soup is also simple to make and only limited by imagination.
Mine is easy to clean and even though space in my kitchen is an issue it fits well into a cupboard.
I live alone so make up enough to freeze for those times I have no time.
For me it was well worth the money...
