Just that really - it's definitely worth a try as it tastes almost like real bread. It's not in all stores but it is quite a lot of then. In ours it's on the top shelf with Sainsbury's tin loaves.

And spread the word - so they keep doing it!!

Gluten free Naan bread. Delicious but tricky to make and it took me half an hour to clean up the kitchen grin

Looks good! Do you deliver? grin

merlotgran Sat 06-May-17 19:34:26

Yes! Across the garden to DGS who pronounced the 'awesome!'

I'm freezing what's left of the batch. I don't want to go through all the parlaver too often.

Anyone take today's Guardian? Only there was a recipe for a pizza base made from chickpea flour. I've torn it out and will give it a go sometime. It did sound delicious.

merlotgran Sat 06-May-17 19:45:04

Is it a Thomasina Miers recipe, whitewave? I think DD got hers from the Guardian. She's a big TM fan.

whitewave Sat 06-May-17 20:22:43

Yes!! That's the one. Have you tried it? I would never thought of chickpea flour.

merlotgran Sat 06-May-17 20:27:55

I haven't tried it myself but her recipes are usually very good. I usually use GF white bread flour. I'll give it a go next weekend.

I must see if Sainsbury's has it - if not I expect Waitrose does.

Just had a lovely M&S ham/bacon and cheese puff pastry quiche type thing. It was lovely and DH enjoyed the other one.

M&S's breaded fish is ok too.

I've seen chickpea flour in my lardigh Sainsbury's.

LARGISH!!!!

I'm really impressed with the M&S gf range. I particularly like their range of ready made sandwiches and wraps. Can't get used to having a choice! Their scones are good too.

We had Aldi frozen gf whitebait for lunch today - they were lovely and DH enjoyed them too.

Whitebait was one of my favourite things to eat so these were a fab find. £2.45 (I think) We ate a whole box which was really too much between two for lunch but we struggled on blush

merlotgran Tue 06-Jun-17 18:10:59

I'll look out for them on Thursday, kitty. I'm always racking my brain for something different for lunch and we love whitebait.

kittylester Thu 08-Jun-17 23:37:34

Right, since I mentioned Sainsbury's nice bread and the m&s flaky pastry flans, I am unable to buy either - I didn't mean you were to buy them for yourselves!!grin

I've bought 3 boxes of the whitebait so feel free to buy those!

merlotgran Thu 08-Jun-17 23:43:30

We've just had cheese on (Sainsbury's nice bread) toast. Naughty but nice at this time of night but we're a cold suffering household, staying up late and needing something to keep us going.

Had to abandon the Aldi shop today but will stock up on whitebait ASAP

Just back from Tesco. In the chiller section there was GLUTEN FREE PUFF PASTRY! I think it was Jus-Rol. Haven't tried it but thought you'd like to know. If anyone does try it could they comment.

I might have mentioned before the frozen gluten free battered onion rings - they are delicious. They also stock a frozen Goodfellows GF pizza and a fresh Pizza Express one. I load the Pizza Express one with pancetta, tomatoes, mushrooms and red onions.

Well I've tried it. There is genius and also another make - can't remember the name. Well all I can say is just like the bread - nor particularly edible but better than nothing I guess.
