We have had our first tastings of Cheshires and they where scrummy to say the least they are only on sale for a short while before they start to taste earthy so we will buy them whilst we can,last week we had some Jerseys loose from a big bag in local Greengrocers they where £3.00 a kilo so I just bought enough for the two of us but they where also delicious I don't like to buy the prepacked ones at Supermarkets I like to pick my own from stall holders at markets or greengrocers.Trouble with new pots my butter intake goes up dramatically as well as.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that new potatoes are quite tasteless this year? I have tried several different varieties, bagged from the local supermarket, and loose from our local greengrocer, but all taste pretty insipid....and all are expensive. Even Jersey Royals aren't what they used to be. Can anyone recommend a variety that they consider enjoyable....Thanks
