Now, I have no guilt about my " crimes", but mine could possibly be salt. Or Lurpak. Or sugar. Or fat on meat. Or.....

Oh dear, there's not much hope for me!

I have, since my late 20s found my weight gain to be quick and weight loss slow. When diagnosed with a chronic illness 5 years ago I knew beoming fitter could prevent some added complications. I wanted to lose weight. I find any planned diet useless after the first week so I had hypnotherapy which did not make any food forbidden. The rule was to enjoy whatever you ate, eat slowly and mindfully. It worked!. I lost a stone and a half and have not regained the weight. No guilt just pleasure!

Cheese on toast with a little knob of butter on top and a smear of Marmite. Ooh, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Can't resist walnuts, a small handful here another there. 3 squares of DH's 85% dark chocolate. Topping up my wine glass. I could go on but I won't.

I haven't bought biscuits, sweets or chocolate for months. I use sweetners in hot drinks, I use fruit to sweeten cereal. I cut every scrap of fat off the meat I eat. I only occasionally eat crisps.
WHY AM I FAT !!

MawBroon Mon 31-Jul-17 07:50:37

Why oh why oh why the correlation of food (any food) which millions in the world are crying out for, with morality, goodness or guilt

"Naughty but nice"
"Ooh I don't mind if I do"
Even the wretched Slimming World "syns" - don't tell me nobody has spotted the similarity to "SINS"?

Can we all grow up please? smile

Imperfect27 Mon 31-Jul-17 07:33:41

Maybe the trouble for me is that I don't have a 'guilt' button. If I find myself putting on weight - a definite risk at Christmas, Easter and summer hols, then I just cut down again. It is a simple equation: eating too much = get fat. But I don't feel 'guilty' when indulge ... I just don't get that response. 'Responsible' or 'irresponsible' with my food choices, yes - why add in such a negative as guilt?. If you are going to 'sin' - sin boldly! grin
And I have ENJOYED 3 choccy digestives for breakfast today - knowing I am going to have a long walk later.

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-17 07:06:34

I agree with penstemmon but I do like sugar in my tea and on my cereal and feel guilty about it - but not quite enough. And, if we buy sweets for the car when we are going on a 'journey', i can't leave them alone.

I'm not keen on fruit.

travelsafar Mon 31-Jul-17 06:35:38

Biscuits of any kind, I now only buy rich tea but even those disappear down my throat with a cuppa. Also love butter spread thickly on fresh bread with jam!!!!

seacliff Mon 31-Jul-17 06:21:12

I thought butter was good for you again... In moderation?

seacliff Mon 31-Jul-17 06:20:23

Marmite crisps for me too, a serious addiction

Penstemmon Mon 31-Jul-17 00:07:45

Oh just eat what you enjoy..savour it, eat it "mindfully" but don't overdose on it. Somethings going to kill you!!

annodomini Mon 31-Jul-17 00:00:24

Vegetable crisps. I tell myself that they contribute to my 5-a-day.
At the moment, peaches. Aldi are selling the 'doughnut' kind at a very reasonable price.

I like an ice-cream sandwhich made with a brioche, an easy pudding for Sunday lunch, DGC love it. Serve with fruit if you must.

Cherrytree59 Sun 30-Jul-17 22:27:36

Farnorth I love Fry's cream chocolate sandwiches blush

Tegan2 Sun 30-Jul-17 22:26:45

Jacobs cream crackers with Clover spread. I wish I hadn't discovered Clover as it's so butterly. Thankfully I've just finished off the last of both so I'll be ok for a while.

LadyGracie Sun 30-Jul-17 21:17:30

Marmite crisps

FarNorth Sun 30-Jul-17 21:04:56

Fry's chocolate cream.
Did you know Tesco has packs of 3 for £1. That's only 33.3p each!

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Jul-17 20:57:55

I ate two today
(puddings that is, well we were out and I couldn't choose, there were several others there too but we were in polite company).

Grapes tomorrow grin
