fried fish

Do you fry fish? and if so, how?
I make a batter with 2 tbsp. flour, an egg, s&p and some water.
I would like other ideas for making the batter.

\would not have been olive oil that was used. Back in those days the only way of getting olive oil was a tiny bottle from chemists. So it would have been vegetable oil that was used then.
