What would you cook and what entertainment would you have.

I’d have
Melon slices with half a cherry on top for starters.
Main meal: Jam sandwiches
Desert: Banana custard.
(I hate cooking but like company ?)

Entertainment: Dog agility.

What about you?

I love the sound of Paddyann's menu.
Reading it made me quite hungry!

LadyGracie Sat 12-Jan-19 15:47:05

I’d enjoy yours Ohmother

HurdyGurdy Sat 12-Jan-19 15:50:10

Well, no offence intended to any of the other contestants, but none of you have matched up to OhMother's evening for me!

It sounds blissful - ESPECIALLY the entertainment. grin

How lovely to be reminded of rum babas.
I think they were a 70's favourite, I loved them .
I remember buying them though, not making them,

GabriellaG54 Sat 12-Jan-19 15:51:15

The entertainment would be exactly like the programme I'll Get This

HurdyGurdy Sat 12-Jan-19 15:53:28

This is the blog of someone who went on CDWM in 2014. It's an interesting read

bluemozza.wordpress.com/2014/03/27/my-come-dine-with-me-adventure-part-one-pre-broadcasting/

for me - way too much effort for just £1,000 !!

PECS Sat 12-Jan-19 16:11:29

I have watched the programme a few times and once realised a contestant was a childhood friend. Don't think they won! It as a Newcastle based programme.

My starts would be

Mezze

Chicken Sofrito

Home made baklava

Suegalway1 Sat 12-Jan-19 16:51:40

I'd cook a totally vegan menu and serve it with vegan wine or beer.

Fishless fish pie for starter
Seitan steak and chips with peppercorn sauce for main
Pink Dragon Fruit Layer Cake for pudding

Delicious!

Suegalway1 Sat 12-Jan-19 16:53:32

All cooked from scratch, of course.

Noname Sat 12-Jan-19 17:05:04

I love to cook but can’t decide on a menu just at the moment but what I would spend time on is the table setting; I love a beautiful table with lovely napkins, candles, flowers and sparkling cutlery!
(We went to a friends for a meal once and the cutlery was in a pile in the centre of the table! Hence I’ve never forgotten it!) ?

GabriellaG54 Sat 12-Jan-19 17:15:02

Suegalway1
It all looks scrumptious but that exactly is in the non-fish fish pie and what is Seitan steak.
The pudding looks too beautiful to eat. Yummy. ?

GabriellaG54 Sat 12-Jan-19 17:16:04

* What, not that blush

sodapop Sat 12-Jan-19 17:25:10

I agree Noname a nice table setting really sets off the meal with all the right cutlery and wine glasses of course. We would have
Egg & bacon salad with quail eggs as a starter
Duck breast with peppercorn sauce and veg
Cheese board
Raspberry creme brulee.
Not really a fan of entertainment just good conversation.

Chewbacca Sat 12-Jan-19 17:29:58

Not watched CDWM since the episode where a woman brought her pet snake out for the other guests to admire. As it slithered across the table towards one petrified lady, it let out a long stream of poo, all across the tablecloth. Turned my stomach and I've never watched it since. envy not envy

knspol Sat 12-Jan-19 17:59:53

Can't cook but seriously considering visiting quite a few of you now, most of these menus sound delicious.

MissAdventure Sat 12-Jan-19 18:04:43

Count me in, knspol
I'm no cook, but I'm a very enthusiastic eater.

Neilspurgeon0 Sat 12-Jan-19 18:32:31

No PaddyAnne regrettably he is VERY exoensive, but if you ask nicely I will come and try to play my pipes for you

GabriellaG54 Sat 12-Jan-19 19:43:35

Neilspurgeon0
Ah! A windbag...?

Theresamb Sat 12-Jan-19 20:10:36

I’d go for your favourite school meal
Starter- glass of water, (we weren’t posh enough for a real starter)
Main- steak and kidney pie, peas mash and gravy
Pudding- caramel custard tart, ( the very best piece of food ever produced)

manma2 Sat 12-Jan-19 20:33:50

I love your thought ...... it is all about the company

Catterygirl Sat 12-Jan-19 20:42:32

Starter: seafood platter with capers
Main: lamb sofrito with white rice
Dessert: zabaglione
Entertainment: belly dancer

Urmstongran Sat 12-Jan-19 21:25:04

Gosh some of these menus soun totally professional! paddyann love all your Scottish theme, GabriellaG54 yours sounds totally amaze and even though I’ve never eaten vegan, suegalway1 your menu is so different I’d love to try it. Thanks for the photos!
I’d love to come for dinner ladies - any night.
Ps. I agree with Day6 in that programmes now seem to have contestants to bait one another. I suppose the programmers like a bit of meanness. Years ago I loved ‘The Apprentice’ when it was on BBC2. The contestants were so competitive and keen to win a ‘real’ apprenticeship. Then the programme moved more mainstream to BBC1 and it deteriorated into a bear garden that became toe curling to watch so I swerved it! I think entertaining the masses meant dumbing down for ratings.

Skye17 Sat 12-Jan-19 22:24:10

GabriellaG That sounds amazing!

GabriellaG54 Sat 12-Jan-19 22:50:51

Thanks Skye17
I have really cooked those dishes for a meal with my AC and ex about 3 years ago.
I'm a vegetarian, hence the Antipasto which has meat, cheese and dips which suits meat eaters and me. The veggie version of Beef Wellington is a Mary Berry recipe and the rum babas were really boozy.
Being able to see exactly how dishes are made on YouTube is a big help as you can see how the finished meal should look.
grin

HannahLoisLuke Sat 12-Jan-19 23:02:27

I wouldn't take part. Horrible programme, haven't watched it for years.
Sorry for being a misery guts.
