Keep them in the fridge because it is convenient. No opinion as to whether this is good or bad.

'Eggs are at their best when stored at a consistent temperature, so we recommend keeping them in the fridge on the middle shelf.' The British Egg Information Service also confirmed to us that eggs should be kept at a constant temperature below 20ºC.10

Eggs and tomatoes in the fridge. I use eggs straight from the fridge but take tomatoes out to warm up before eating

Never put eggs in the fridge . If you hard boil them they peel so much more easily if cooked from room temperature .

Same as Lemongrove here.
I was told years ago that if put in the fridge they can go off really quickly and can cause tummy bugs.

I am aware they should be out of the fridge but the kitchen is tidier if they are in the fridge.

Yehbutnobut Mon 16-Dec-19 16:21:28

No. Supermarkets don’t refrigerate them either.

No. I keep mine in wire container shaped like a chicken. I never keep mine for more than a week so they do not need to be refrigerated.

On a recent Food and Hygiene course ( university run) we were told that eggs should always be kept in the fridge . Why then do supermarkets leave them sitting out ? I always put mine in the fridge .

I put them in the fridge because it is more convenient. There is a dinky little rack that holds them and it limits breakages.

I am otherwise agnostic on the eggs in the fridge or on the side discussion.

I don't, it's not necessary, some fridges with their specific compartments for eggs give a false impression that they should be refrigerated

! love hard-boiled (10 min) eggs for cold salads, and my logical (?) mind tells me that they must "keep" longer than uncooked eggs, but I was told yesterday "Wrong! boiled keep for only half the time"; no clear reason given! confused
Can't remember when I last cracked a bad egg; full of grey/blue powder or smelt rotten! Is that because they irradiate both chicken and egg these days?

Both eggs and tomatoes live outside the fridge in my house.
Mushrooms in the back porch so the vitD can develop.
