I like traditional hot cross buns (not long to wait now!!) and mince pies.

But I do like a bit of Wensleydale with cranberries.

Thankfully I do not like hot cross buns or mince pies but I have noticed I must read labels these days for most things.

Some people like to ring the changes, nothing wrong with that as BlueBelle said but I prefer traditional hot cross buns and mince pies - yummy.

I love the cheeses with cranberry and last week I had one with ginger it was lovely As long as the traditional ones are still on sale I don’t see anything wrong with having alternatives

I bit into one of those odd hot cross buns by mistake last year. It was a nasty surprise for me too.

As my husband says why do they mess with things?!

His bugbear is stuffing - if it's not sage and onion it's not going on his plate grin

I really can’t understand cheese with cranberries, chilli etc.
Cheese making is such an art using beautiful natural and local ingredients to distinguish it.
Just like wine the same ingredients can taste so different depending on the process.
I certainly hope they don’t start putting chilli in my Rioja.

Yes, I've seen those in multiple supermarkets. They're always on sale. Seems they aren't that popular.

I prefer the traditional hot cross buns and mince pies. I think I saw a chilli flavoured hot cross bun last week ....or was I having a nightmare!

A family member loves those ones ( from M&S) so the flavours we like are all different.M&S also used to do a delicious ginger one.
It would come as a shock though, if you were expecting the traditional taste.Always carry your specs!?

Yesterday I bought a packet of hot cross buns. I buttered one to enjoy with my cup of tea. It was disgusting! No flavour of mixed spice in a soft bun dough but it was oh so sweet with a strange unidentifiable taste. Looked at the packet and a small label said ‘caramel and chocolate chip. To my mind that is not a hot cross bun, a traditional food.

It happened at Christmas with a mince pie that was filled with some inedible extremely sweet goo.

Why meddle with traditional favourites? Yes I know I should read the labels but I am always in a hurry and small print requires glasses, always lost at the bottom of my bag.
